I hate to be a "nitpicker", but there are a few things that have been causing me to feel rain drops, as i walk along the parade route, that is our 2008 season.
I was wondering if you guys had thought of these things, or have any worries of your own, you'd like to share.

1- Every time i listen to Favre speak, he never seems up beat about the upcoming season. He seems to already be lowering any expectations JETS fans have about making a run, however far that run is.
His conversations never seem "firey", and he doesn't seem like a player who's rejuvinated, by being around a new team.
I feel like, and he said it in yesturdays interview, he questions "why am i doing this"?

2-Again, in yesturdays interview, he stated that Coles, and Cotchery, are not recievers you'd like to "drop back, and throw it into deep coverage to ", but instead are "in space" type players, who rely on "yards after the catch".
    HUH?!
If that were the case, how many YAC, did these guys have when Pennington was throwing them the ball on 5 and 10 yard dumps?

    This really worries me, guy's!

Was'nt the reason we got Favre to be able to throw the ball deep into coverage?!

I'm not sure about any of you, but i'm not enjoying what i read, when Favre speaks to reporters.

Favre has never been a great interview. He's pretty honest and low key, that's who he is. I am not concerend about that at all. I have concerns in other areas but not about his fire.

The way a guy handles himself during the pre-season with the media doesn't concern me in the slightest.

It really turns to how he performs during the actual game.

Do you think he's just being "coy", and down playing things, or do you think he's looking at the talet on offense, and thinking to himself,"houston we have a problem"?

I think we've been worried so much at who is going to be our #3 reciever, that we're blind to the fact that we don't have a legitimate #1!

Let's hope Clowney, or Stuckey are real suprises, or i really think we're missing a big piece to this puzzle.

GB didn't have a legitimate #1 WR either and they did just fine. I don't care what he says in his statements, they mean nothing.

We have as much, if not more, talent on O than Favre had last year. I think he's giddy after seeing the talent up close.

Worst case scenario Ratliff would have ended up the starter based on TC. Addition by subtraction.

I haven't seen the interview, but Favre has always been a low key interview, like NY Junc said. I think he's just getting into the new (for him) system. As far as Favre throwing deep, that is something everyone will have to get used to. And of, course Favre has to get used to Coles and Cotchery being "in space" type of players too. Not every throw can be a bomb.

I'm pretty sure the "in space" comment with Coles and Cotch was referring to the fact that you want to get them the ball when they're in space because they're good YAC guys, as opposed to giving them the ball in coverage and not giving them a chance to run afterwards. It was more a compliment to their elusiveness than anything else.

Come on, you and I both know from dealing with Penny for the past few years that Coles and Cotch are 2 of the toughest recievers in traffic, and will put their bodies on the line to make the catch.

Not worried at all. I will judge him on TD's and wins and nothing else. Prepare for a sloppy, crappy game from Favre Saturday with 2 picks. He is still way behind physically and mentally. The first ass hole that bails on him after 1 qtr. is going to here it from me for the rest of the season.

We also have Dustin Keller. Who was drafted specifically because he was the best receiver available and he has been very very good in TC.

Favre is just getting used to a new system. People need to relax and wait for the season to start.

I wouldn't read too much into this yet. Like Nyjunc says, he's always been a pretty low-key interview. On the other hand, it's also true that in previous years with Green Bay, he's been pretty positive and "rah-rah" about the team and the upcoming season, but still, I don't really take it as a sign that he's not into the Jets. I know a lot of Packer fans have been noticing the same thing you've noticed, and interpreting it a lot differently, but I think what we're seeing here is a man who's still in a state of emotional shock.

I think he's still a little bit stunned that he's no longer a Packer. I think he's genuinely glad to be with the Jets, but at the same time, it's clear that none of this has turned out the way he expected it to just a couple of weeks ago, and I think he's still reeling from it - and, probably at least a little bit sheepish about what an ass he made of himself with this whole circus. Once the ball is snapped, he'll probably be the same competitor he's always been, but the one worry I'd have here is whether it will be a distraction to him. His heart is probably always going to be in the game, but that's not always true of his head. The only worry I'd have here is that you may be seeing a lack of focus, not a lack of fire. We'll know in a couple of weeks, either way.

He just interviews that way.And to tell you the truth.. If i were him and came here and saw the "saviour" attitude among everybody and all the shirts and jerseys etc I would start trying to set the mood to the oncoming season a little lower too. People are being extremely unrealistic about his arrival and it would bother me too if i were him.

why am i doing this", was said as a joke, and im glad he's becoming familiar with the recievers that he knows their strengths and weaknesses.

    So i don't think there is a problem...no worries

Favre probably wants many of the posters here surgically removed from his nuts. It has to be slowing him down when he leaves the pocket.

Let's wait till we actually see some games played before we make all these judgments based upon verbal nuances and body language.

Why does everyone seem to be freaking out this morning? Did I miss something monumental overnight?
