I will look it up. K. Looked it up. In 1999, attendance dropped by 1 million fans, to an average of just over 19,000. Attendance dropped to a low of 13,000 in 2003. From 2001 to 2007, the Devil Rays were ranked 14 out of 14 in AL attendance. This season they skyrocketed to #12. Wow. Impressive.
For comparison, the Diamondbacks, who came into the league the same year, have never been below 25,400 for attendance.
Lets not talk about attendance...Because the attendance of Boston back in the day was simply PATHATIC.

Except that since 1967 they were lower that 7th in attendance TWICE, and less than 20,000 just 5 times. From '67-'82 they finished no lower than 5th in attendance, and then from '86 until now they've been no lower than 6th. All the while having one of the smallest parks in baseball. The only thing "pathatic" here is your spelling.

Well...The Rays played hard all game and never gave up, as a fan...other than a win, I cant ask for much more. Hats off to Danks and the White Sox, they played a better overall game here in gm 3. Rays 2 Sox 1 Now it's time to relax before work, lay down and enjoy a Red Sox loss. Tonight is the night where the Angels make the magical comeback. No way the White Sox win the next two games...No way.
