He's involved in every play, though more often than not, it's been negative. I'm glad we have Ty Law. Because honestly, the way we're playing right now, that might be our only real weakness.

Dwight Lowery is a stiff, a huge scrub. Talented kid my ass.

We also need Harris back. Barton alone in the center of our defense is too slow

Lowery just isn't that good yet. He has potential but he seems raw.

I don't understand why they're putting the safety over Revis in the slot and leaving Lowery on an island though. I expect that to change in the second half.

Oh yeah and anyone who complained about the Law move should maybe reconsider.

Let's not be too hard on Lowry over that Gafney TD. The kid's a very talented rookie. He'll be okay.

i like him and think he will be good eventually, but watching him get beat time and time again is getting annoying. why he is left one on one i will never understand.

Lowery has made great pass breakups but he's still young. Give him time. It was a good throw and a slight push off by Gaffney. It happens to all rookie CBs.

    ...he's a late round rookie.

I love how you guys put so much faith into someone like Lowery.

His upside is huge. He's done a great job for being thrown into the fire.

that wasnt horrible coverage..ur not gonna have 100% perfect coverage every play and cassell just took advantage of that small margin and made a sick pass....i still have confidence in him

I thought he made some nice plays today.

I also think many PI calls he got lately were complete BS.

He makes Rookiemistakes, but he?s also showing a lot of talent and great instincts, he?s gonna be a nice #2 soon. Get off his back.

He has shown some nice plays, but he obviously needs some help with Gaffney.

Agreed with the sentiment, Lowery will be very good once he grows and learns the workings of the game. But for now, we have to learn to live with the rookie mistakes.

He should've gotten help on that TD pass to Gaffney. The slot receiver had triple coverage from the CB, Safety, and the ILB. One of those guys should've helped Lowery.

Still, I can't believe some people were ready to call Lowery a pro bowler at the beginning of the year. He's definitely talented but he's very raw and will need to put in a lot of work if he wants to be good.

Because Ty Law and Rhodes are taking out Moss and Revis has a lock down on Cassel's go to guy Welker.

All Lowery has to do is cover the third receiver scrub Gafney and he cant do it.

(I'm bumping this thread because there's no need to start a new one)

I'm sick of all of the anti-Lowery bullshit. The kid can play. It must be incredibly tough playing across the field from the league's best corner. Dwight Lowery is going to be thrown at all game. It looks like he's not doing his job, but in reality he's done a fine job.

It's shitty to put the blame on a late round, second year corner when in reality the worst player in our secondary is everyone's favorite Jet: Kerry Rhodes. It's time to put the blame on shitty safety play.

The Jets pass defense has allowed only a NFL best 6 TDs:

2 are by tight ends so that's on the linebackers and safeties. (Dolphins TEs Fasano and Haynos)

1 was on Darrelle Revis. The long Ginn TD in the first Jets/Dolphins game. Kerry Rhodes can be blamed for that score as well.

2 were allowed by Lito Sheppard. (Lee Evans and Mike Sims-Walker TDs) Both safeties missed sure tackles on Sims-Walker and Lee Evans.

    AND

1 was allowed by the highly criticized Dwight "Swipe" Lowery...just a great catch by Nate Washington of the Titans...

I know the kid gets worked and gives up a few third and longs every now and then, but he makes the tackle. He hasn't allowed many big plays this season, so you guys can't knock him for getting burned.

Look, I'm not trying to say he's the best damn corner in the league, but he's improving with each game and that's good fucking sign.

I can only hope Lowery steps his game up today against Wes Welker. All he has to do is stay in front of the football and continue to make plays.

Thank You MR.E! I have always supported Lowery and although is is sometimes annoying to see him let up some underneath routes due to a huge cushion I think he has done an awesome job.

    Everyone should read your post.

    Thanks man.

I get annoyed when Lowery gives up short and intermediate catches because of he's lined up so far off the line, but that's not all on him - it's part of the scheme.

I watched this kid straight up DOMINATE in the WAC - I know, I know it's the WAC - but Dwight Swipe has loads of talent, but he has to be given a chance to develop into a pro corner and I think he's making major strides.
