Mods, if you want to merge this with the past threads that were on here go ahead, but I have to say this and I'm probably beating the dead horse here. This man who shocked us two years ago into getting this team that I would admit, we had no expectations to get into the playoffs & he did. Last year became what should've been two years ago. This season looked very promising and now for the last four weeks has become a complete nightmare, with the exception of Abrahm Elam's sack & forced fumble along with Shawn Ellis picking up the ball and putting it into the endzone against Buffalo. Never in my life have I seen a team go to the west coast four times and not picking up a victory in SD, OAK, SF, & SEA. This coaching staff for some reason just can't seem to get this team inspired to play an opponent that they are better than but will play down to their level and lose. Say what you want about Herman Edwards and his play clock managing but let's be truthful about it, he got his players ready to play. He got his players to win or at least playing like they wanted to win when they were on the West Coast. The Jets won in San Diego twice in the regular season and in the playoffs with the final field goal doing the job. This team can't win a game west of Tennessee & it's just F'en sad. There is no imagination at all with this coaching staff and it's terrible that they can't change things on the fly or pull out a fake out to get a first down when they are 4th & 1. I've already come to the conclussion that with either Chad or Favre this season was going to end like this anyway. If somehow the Pats lose & the Jets do beat the Dolphins at home, regardless, I'm not watching this sunday. It's too painful to go thru all the ageda when there were three games on this so-called easy schedule that the Jets should've destroyed the Raiders, 49ers & Seahawks that had less talent than the Jets and still beat the Jets. And before I go, get Lauverneous Coles off this team now. He is a joke and he opens his mouth way to many times. We have three good WR's for next season in Cotchery, Clowney & Stucky.
I was just about to say that too, KEEP WESTOFF. the guy is a very very good special teams coach and has been for years.
its always been coaching for this franchise... Parcells, Weeb.... thats it. Everyone else blows. Unless Walton was good. I need the help of the posters who have seen them all.
Everyone wants Coles gone, I predict he goes to MIA and has 1,000 yards and 10 TDs. Papers will be filled with stories about how he is "mentoring" Ted Ginn and making him a better player.
I should've said keep Westoff. He is a great Special Teams coach. But I was too angry to put that down. But I think most of you know what I was trying to say. When I typed my post I was pointing the fingers at Mangini, Shotty & Sutton. Westoff should stay. Bill Coher or Brian Billick I want to bring over here when Mangini gets fired. And even if they do magically make the playoffs. Fire them anyway. It's a sad state when you can't destroy these cheap excuses of pro football teams when you've become one yourself.
I like the Billick idea. It may come to Callahan actually getting the HC job as he has experience in the NFL already. It's not a great experience but it still counts. I believe the Cowher addition would be great but wont happen.
