...purchase 32 ping pong balls and write the name of one NFL team on each ball. ...place all 32 balls into a 'lotto winning numbers machine'. ...remove top ball from tube. if ball does not say 'NY Jets', then return ball to hopper and repeat as necessary. ...if after 40 consecutive attempts the 'NY Jets' ball fails to appear, then change uniforms, entertain fans with overweight flight attendants, hire new head coach, build new stadium. ...repeat every 40 years as necessary.
ahaha good god  have no idea why that was so funny, this got me more than that Ninja comment from some other thread lol... But seriously, we all know its not a simple as getting a ball to pop out of the lottery bin. We have to actually put all the pieces together at the right time. It takes an incredible amount of luck combined with skill, combined with it just happening to be your day. But you have to put yourself in a position to be in the postseason. Which we have not done consistently in a very long time (by consistent i mean 3+ straight years). If you crack into the playoffs enough, you can find one year where it just all happens to break your way. Look at the Colts of 2 years ago. They seem to be in the playoffs every year, and finally they got the breaks and they put it all together for 3 games. we have never put ourseleves in a place to consistently be a force to be reckoned with.
the only way we'd be lucky enough to win the lottery like that is if Patrick Ewing was the consensus #1 pick
