Ward signed down in Tampa. He gets 4 years and 17 million. 6.5 is guaranteed. I'm glad for him. It will suck to play him next year, but he'll always be a Giant in my memories of the 2007 season.
Danny Ware will. He's already described himself as "water.' Madison Hedgecock has also described himself as "dirt of the earth," so I think we'll be okay in the nickname department.
I would have liked Ward on the Jets but he got a hell of a contract down there. More than anybody else would have offered, I think.
Gimme a break . . . he succeeding on NYG because they have a nasty o-line and he was spelling Brandon Jacobs.
Ward did struggle when Jacobs was out. But give the man his due. He built his game up each year and earned his place on that roster. Not many RBs peak at 29. And his performance against Carolina in OT was nothing short of amazing.
He's a solid dude but he's too old for a long deal and his value was definitely inflated by Jacobs/the offensive line. Danny Ware will slide in as the former Jets practice squad player with the initials D.W. who becomes a productive member of the Giants backfield.
And because he has good speed, vision, and ability to break tackles. Not to mention is good in pass protection and can catch the ball out of the backfield. He does have game which is why he stuck so long on this team.
The guy was a 1000 yard back with sharing time with another 1000 yard back. Yeah, it was a fluke of O-line.
Watch how he played when Jacobs was out. He ran completely differently. It was weird as hell. Still don't know why he did it.
Ward is a good back kinda shocked he went there when will have to compete for the starting job with Graham and Cadallic
Ward was given a chance with NYJ.....Cmon Derrick Blaylock was his competition. Derrick Blaylock. You cant beat that scrub out of a job, then you arent worth a shot.
