No? The Jets are in need of a playmaker @ the WR postion, an EXPLOSIVE playmaker... And thats just what Harvin is, a playmaker. So dont sit here and tell me that Harvin doesn't fill the needs of the Jets, because he does. We will see who has the last laugh after the draft...Just watch. If the Jets draft Percy Harvin...That proves that you had no idea what the fuck you were talking about the whole time. If the Jets draft Percy Harvin @ 17, you know what that means? That means that the Jets feel that Harvin fills a need @ WR which was an explosvie playmaker, something we dont have as of right now.
There's about a half dozen players in the draft that fill a bigger need OR are a better fit for the Jets...than Percy Harvin. In no particular order 1)Jarron Gilbert 2)Mark Sanchez 3)Jeremy Maclin 4)Hakeem Nicks (and his bag of cheetos) 5)Knowshon Moreno 6)Trade-down (yes, I'd take a trade down over Harvin) 6a) Ziggy Hood
Your needs from the Jets seem to differ from those of the FO and our CS. Ryan has been quoted countless times about the fact that he's looking for an offense built around ball control and heavily limited mistakes. In that situation, our most pressing need at WR is for possession type receivers able to make tough catches in traffic and keep the ball moving. While I have never argued that Harvin is capable, or explosive, a 5'11" receiver best suited to the slot doesn't exactly fit the profile of the receivers we're looking for. Either he or Leon would likely become underutilized, and I'd prefer to stick with the explosive playmaker we have and fill the needs of the offense our head coach has laid out. Also, I think you're underestimating the increase in size, strength, and speed that accompanies a move to the NFL. While I feel Harvin can be a playmaker at the next level, there's no doubt that defenses will have caught up to him, and will to some extent neutralize his advantages. Should the Jets, for some bizarre reason, choose to draft Harvin, you will see some explosive play from his position. What you won't see is the hole that it will leave at one of the other areas of need on the field, but you'll feel the impact.
1) I disagree. The Jets can look for DE deph during the later rounds and maybe even draft a DE with the 1st pick next year...Not this year. 2) I'm all for Sanchez, but he wont be there @ 17 3) Maclin wont be there 4) Nicks... lol, your kidding right? Nicks might be there when the Jets pick in the 2nd round, lol... 5) How is Moreno a bigger need than Harvin when the Jets have Thomas Jones who just rushed for the most yards in the AFC with Leon Washington coming into his own? Once again... I'm all for drafting a RB #1 next year but this year? Just stop already. 6) No thanks. 6a) Wow.
oh shit.....you're a fucking gypsy??!!....why didn't you say so, Kreskin. Why even have the draft....when we have this douchebag telling us how it's going to happen 'pick by pick'.
Trust me when I say this, everyone on this board wants Clowney to be #1 WR, because it would mean Clowney has to beat out Cotch. I'll take that any day considering Cotch has been very consistent over the years. Would he actually be the #1 WR? I doubt it. I bet there were 31 teams in the NFL that thought Brady won't ever start an NFL game, let alone a few superbowls so I wouldn't be surprised. (Fuckin Brady)
I think Clowney could be an exciting player for us if he excels under Ellard. He could probably learn more from him this year then he did in the last 2 years if he sees the field frequently. There is no doubting his raw ability to catch passes and run blazing routes. If he can learn the x's and o's of what it takes to be a starting caliber receiver, hes already got more tools then most of the receivers in this draft. Great hands, amazing speed, work ethic, and a good head on his shoulders. His route running ability is an unknown to me, and I would bet hes not much of a blocker, but he sure would be able to stretch a field. Clowney in 2009, it could happen. On a side note, why the fuck is TBJF letting his "girlfriend" post again? She obviously doesn't know shit about the Jets, much less anything regarding football.
I'm not looking for Clowney to be the #1 wideout per se.....my point was....i hope he has what it takes to be one of the starting wideouts. I said he was filling Coles' shoes...because Coles left via FA...and his position is up for grabs. But TBJF is too daft to pick up on that.
Im glad Coles left. He was decent, but add to the fact his bitching, I'd take my chances on Stuckey and Clowney. I think Stuckey will be good this year considering it'll be his third yr. IMO, Clowney won't beat out Stuckey simply because Stuckey was pretty good with the chances he got. Clowney is yet to get a real chance so his potential is yet to be seen.
Yeah i get what your saying but sometimes you gotta state the facts my mann...btw rickey henderson is my great uncle
Funny hOw jet fans kiss clowney's behind when he hasn'T played an nfl game and just go by preseason...NewSflash he will do nothing in the nfl, him and henry are camp foOdler.. raiders Arman ShIelds 6'1 195 4.4 and PAssed every wR drill, will be better than clowney and is a future #1...he w0ulda played this yr had he not got hurt and that why he fell during draft day. with him, schillens, russell, and zach miller who is the best all-around TE in the nfl is an offense that is F0rmidable and deadIy for the near future
