The whole point is this...Everyone has been downing Harvin because they say he's "to small for a #1 WR" Then these same people who knock Harvin as being "Small" actually have the nerve to crack up this Maclin guy as a huge, strong, tall, beast of a potential #1 which is NOT the case, the man is only 6'0 and MAYBE 6'1 and just about EVERY site has Harvin listed as 5'11.

I'm not one to judge #1 WR's on their height, I like to focus on their talent, skill and ability and as of right now...Other than Crabtree, Harvin has the most potential to be a game-changer @ the NFL level and thats what I look for in a #1 WR.

But when I think of TALL #1 WR's, I think of WR's like Moss, Burress and others...I dont think of WR's being listed as 6'1 being "Tall".

All in all, if you guys are gonna knock Harvin as being "2 Small" because "TBJF85" loves the guys ability...Please...Please...Dont crack this Maclin guy up into becoming the next Randy Moss because he's only 6'0 MAYBE 6'1

Again, it isn't the size as much as it is the skill set. 2 inches does make a difference with NFL corners, though.

We will have to agree to disagree because because I feel Harvin would improve this Jets offense in more ways than Maclin will. You feel different, I respect that.

On a side note, if the Jets DO draft Maclin, I'll be just as excited as anyone else because the Jets are in dire need of a playmaking WR and if we draft Maclin over Harvin, that means the front office got their guy. But if the Jets actually draft Harvin over Maclin if he's still on the board, well then that means the Jets landed their guy.

If we do draft Maclin, I would like to see him focus more on becoming a WR than a KR/PR. Leon has that on lock and I would just hope for Maclin to focus on becoming a better WR.

Since when was a Leon vs Maclin thread "IMPORTANT" When someone makes a lame thread like this, talking about college players, well then it's only natural for others to talk about other college players.

People have made it known that they love Maclin

I've made it known that Im all for Harvin

So as a Jets fan...When I see a Maclin thread, I feel it's my job to stick up for my boy Harvin...

Put it this way...If I make a thread about Kellen as our starting QB, people will talk about Ratliff right? But you know what? The thread was never about Ratliff.

If I make a thread about Thomas Jones...SOMEONE will talk about Leon.

I Didnt try and "Highjack" this thread, I just got caught up in the moment

You of all people have absolutely "ZERO" room to criticize a thread for being lame. You are the biggest culprit of this.

Good for you, and you can continue to do so in the correct thread.

#1 - Hes not your "Boy."
#2 - Hes not the topic at hand.
    #3 - This is trolling.

Ratliff is on the Jets, competing for a starting job. Harvin is not. You see the difference? Of course you dont.....

    See above....

    1) Maclin is a wide receiver, Leon is a RB. As for the point of the thread they are two totally different players. Leon cannot do what Maclin does and vice versa.

    2) The reason Harvin gets knocked on for being small is because he constantly gets hurt. He always has had something wrong with him and that's why you have to be concerned about his size.

Your opinion is bias because you love Harvins cock. I agree with the previous posters, you need to get over this Harvin obsession and stop making threads about harvin and then debating us by using his talent, and making crazy comparisons to 3rd down backs.

Scikotics and CoolerGlenn nice posts, absolutely agree with you hah

I'm not angry that he's obsessed with Harvin...it's his right.....but quit fucking spreading it in every thread. It's beyond annoying.

I came into this thread..wanting to hear some opinions on Maclin.......not hear how Percy Harvin will eventually lead the Jets out of bondage....enough already.

    Yeah, well:

ESPN and the Mizzou website both have Maclin as 6'1"-200

we already have one hybrid played who is not used right i don't want to be disappointing with another one that cant be used right i want a true tall receiver until we can prove we can use the 1st one right or else its a waste of cap space

    This is from rotoworld:

Interesting for them to say he won't be effective the first year, while realizing we need help this year, and picking us to draft him anyway.

I wouldn't mind this, if he projects to be a stud...and we sign Torry Holt.

I think Holt is the missing piece of our offense and we should go after him with a vengeance.

I drool just thinking about Holt, Cotch, and Stuckey in the slot. No homo.

Maclin is a receiver. Harvin lined up in the backfiled as much as at WR. he's a leon Clone who has never been used in Flordia's return game.

Maclin has not missed time due to several different injurys. Has not been in trouble in the past. Harvin has. There is a reason why people like Maclin over Harvin. There are several.

wow, looks like YOUR the one who's lying. I never said Maclin was like Randy Moss all I said was that people on this site are acting like Maclin is some tall, huge, Burress-Moss type of WR which is not the case.

Put it this way...Maclin is closer to being a Harvin than a Moss/Burress (Height wise)

Here's what Henry Ellard had to say about Maclin after his Pro-Day:

"A former St. Louis Rams receivers coach, Ellard has compared Maclin to a young Torry Holt."

That's a pretty good compliment for a young WR. As an earlier poster said, if we can Holt for a year or 2 we could ease Maclin into the mix and he could learn from a great WR. I'm all for that.

Because obviously there is only room for one player with speed on offense.
