He is 6'1, 240 lbs and is 27 yrs old. A 2nd round pick and has a lot of experience to go with it. We are relatively thin at LB depth with mostly rookies or no exp backups. He seems to have had a few good season and probably can contribute nicely as a backup. I'll be honest, I don't know anything about him. I had never even heard his name before but his stats seem decent, has a few ints, fumbles and sacks over his career. If the price is right, do you guys think he'll be a good fit as a backup?

Backup? I don't know if this guy is looking to be a backup. I mean, he was the Rams' leading tackler last season. Has had some injury problems, but when healthy, this guy can start.

That being said, if the price was right, I'd be in favor of signing him. I don't see it happening, but I wouldn't mind if we did.

He'd be a good back-up but as you say he probably expects to be a starter!

He'd be good, at the right price - can't do any harm having a look at him.

He'll be fine to add just to say we have depth, but I don't know how effective he'll be in a 3-4 hybrid.

Foote would've been perfect, because he comes from that same sort of defensive scheme. So I don't really know if Pisa could fit into our system and do well.

I'm hoping that Jason Trusnik has a break out season and carries on where he left off last season. Hes my one to watch next season

I don't know, his stats weren't mind blowing, and his injury history is a concern. He can probably split time with the starters and though my not be a starter, wouldn't play any less than the starters. Im not sure what position he played with the Rams, inside or outside, but his presence would give a much needed rest to the regular starters while a solid backup takes over a few snaps.

He's a solid pro. Yet price and injury history are both concerns as already mentioned. I've watched him a number of times. He reminds me of a poor man's Lofa Tatupu, very good leverage and instincts.

I think he might be a bit too small for our scheme.

He's smaller then that. My roommate is big Rams fan says hes really like 220. Thats the reason Spags cut him wants bigger LB's.

I love Pisa - he's great against TEs and RBs, but he's like 220 and barely six feet. But hey, he does have some unique talents, and Rex loves that.

Eh. Pisa is best related to Vilma, only he's smaller. He's a 4-3 WOLB. As in, in a 3-4 system, a better fit at SS than at any LB position. I think that he's a solid player, but the question would be whether or not he becomes a liability in run defense.

Which he probably would depending on the alignment. Having him in would give away the alignment. That kind of hurts the scheme, especially considering that Ryan's defense is often based on deception.

I think bringing him in as a backup would be a decent idea. He is a veteran but is not too old, and he has had success in the league in his career. The problem is that I don't think he sees himself as a backup and therefore he'd probably be more expensive than we can afford on depth.

Wouldn't be a bad depth player. He's the type that wouldn't see significant time but in certain games against a receiving tight end could be an almost nickel/linebacker hybrid. Worth a look if he's willing to accept a role player position.
