seems pretty good, we'll be around .500 this year... which is probably not far off the div lead.

i dont like this at all. our defense is going to be far too good than to win us only seven games this season.

Based on RR's history with the Ravens? I think we'll have a great D too, but they won't be able to carry us into the playoffs alone. I think the prediction given was fair. Also, we don't play the AFC/NFC west this year.

If Tom Brady starts 16 games and doesn't win at least 11, I will ban myself.

I actually like this prediction, I feel it is almost impossible for all this to mesh in one season. There were too many important changes for this to work right all together the first time. We got a rookie head coach, rookie defensive coordinator, rookie qb, and a cornerback who has to prove he can regain his past form.
I predict 8-8 this year and 11-5 next year after we either sign/trade/draft for a end zone target ans bolster up the d-line

Call it false optimism, but I'm shooting for 10-9, 11-5, and a chance at the playoffs. Honestly, the offseason is way too long for me to be looking forward to the 2010 season! I want a winner this year in the worst way. No one expected Miami to do anything last year and look what happened. We've got a great o-line, and experience everywhere, (except QB). Why can't we win?

Does Flacco or Ryan ring a bell? A great defense and a strong running game will more than makeup for the inexperience at QB, and there's no reason to think the Jets won't have both. If the Dolphags can go from 1-15 to the playoffs with a rookie HC and noodle arm at QB, there's no reason to think the Jets can't go at least 10-6.

i agree with this projection. those of you shooting for the stars i hope you are not let down when we dont do as well as you hope. i know i wont be mad if we do better than i think.

realistically though this team is definitely building toward something in the very near future, now if only i can be wrong about the qb we just selected then we will have a very very good team in the future.

are you guys stuck in the 90's? who cares about QB or 1st year coach?

I guarantee this team will have 9+ wins. yes "team"... the team has the best people back from last year.

Who do we miss? farve/coles (both coudnt adjust to each other) , mangini ( gave up after thanksgiving diner) , ratliff? elam ( i admit, the buffalo td was a great moment) ...

we have our best players and coaches back - we would have won at least 1 game on west coast even with Bruce Coslet as coach!

my last prediction was jets win in TEN, and don't win a another game rest of season (elam screwed me - screw him - he can get high while mangina watches pre season basketball)

i'll take this defense, L Washington, Revis, O-line

Prediction(*****): jets will not loose more then 7 games in 2009 season

Prediction(***): jets will not lose more then 2 games against AFC east.

Prediction:(**): baring injury, Clemens will start every game this season

Prediction:(*): Moss and Owens will both have a unsportsman-like-conduct penalty on the same day at least once this season.

12-4. Mark it down. Hell, start ordering your playoff tickets.

Funny stuff. Drink the Kool aid until you puke on the side of the road. This could be the best defense since the Steelers of the 70's, Revis is a hall of famer and who needs a QB or WR in 2009 when you have a rookie head coach willing to say anything. Until I read your post, I was just anothter negative Jet fan, but now, but now, I am so pumped for this season nothing anyone can say or happen can make me change my mind. Training camp, pre-season, injuries do not matter, its all gonna happen. Where have you been all my life?

We have not played a SINGLE Pre-Season game yet. I know we have all the horses in place except for the QB postion. But like what was mention in this thread Rex did it with rookie why cant we, Still I need to see our team play a few games. I know pre-season is all very simple plays you can still see if this team has what it takes by the 3rd or 4th pre-season game. I will wait on my prediction.

For those of us who weren't alive yet when the Jets won the SB in 69, predictions and pre pre-season expectations are all we have to look forward to. If we're not predicting big things for the 09 season, why be fans. Even if we do have a shitty year, can we be any more let down than last year? So screw it, rookie coach, rookie qb, great O-line, great D (though does need to gel quickly), 10-6 or 11-5 doesn't sound so far fetched.
