Don't hate. He may be an asshole, but he's a damn fine football player, the two usually not being mutually exclusive, in fact, they appear to go hand-in-hand.
I'm not sure Cutler's the most overrated player on his own team. Brian Urlacher, while good, never seemed to be a great player to me.
While I agree Cutler is over-rated, I believe that the honor of most over rated is Brian Westbrook. The guy can't even get on the field any more and he is treated like a demi-god by espn.
You have obviously never watched Westbrook play. He may get hurt a lot, but when he is on, he is munny!
Peppers is one hell of a player when he wants to be one. Westbrook is injury prone, but when he's playing he's good. His best days are probably behind him though. Cutler is probably a little overrated, but by no means the most.
I think that time will tell. He was great in Denver, but he had better receiving options. If he does as well in chicago, i don't think that he's overrated. I'm not saying that he's fantastic, i just don't think that many people rate him that high.
Cutler is by far not the most over-rated player, he's a great QB with a lot of potential in him. Denver would have been one of the worst teams last year without Jay's great play. IMO the most over-rated player would be Champ Bailey. He was argubly the best CB a couple of years ago, but nowadays, nothing special, but he still seems to regarded by the media and the "fans" as a top-5 CB in the league.
The most overrated? No way. Cutler is great. He is a jerk, but that doesn't mean he is a bad football player. The Bears are about to be 3-1 by the way.
I didnt say westbrook wasnt good. Just that he is insanely over-rated. In order to be an elite player you have to be on the field. Westbrook hasnt played 16 games as a starter in his career has he? I won't deny the guy has big time ability, and is definately someone opposing teams have to game plan for, but he hasnt been elite level in the last 3 years. When 100% healthy westbrook is one of the most dynamic in the league but he is very rarely there.
AYFKM?! His yards from scrimmage since 2004 has been boss. 2004 1,500 2005 1,200 2006 1,900 2007 2,000 2008 1,300 That accounts for a significant portion of the Eagles offense, and if you watch him play, he bails out D Mac all the time. I don't think McNabb would be near as good without him. And while most RBs are line-dependent, he is one of those guys that makes things happen on the ground and in the air regardless of the rest of his team. I WISH Leon was as good as him. Now before you start with that postseason non-sense, it is a rare RB that can carry a team to victory. In fact, the last Super Bowl MVP that was a RB was 10 years ago...and he is arguably one of the top 5 most talented dudes to ever tote a rock in the NFL. Lack of team accolades does not take away from Westy's abilities nor accomplishments. He may not be all-time great, but he is top 5 of the last 5 years.
So you're saying 2,000 yards from scrimmage in 2007 isn't elite? Let me guess, you live in south Jersey and have to deal with philly phans all the time, 'cause that is the only logical explanation for your silly assertion.
I'm not sure why people think he's such a bitch after this past year. Wouldn't you be pissed if your organization fired one of the greatest coaches in recent memory?
