    Sanchez (knee) to practice

NEW YORK -- Injured Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will practice this week, although coach Rex Ryan is uncertain what the rookie's status will be for New York's next game against Atlanta.

Ryan said he wants to see how Sanchez gets through Wednesday's practice before making a decision.

Sanchez didn't make the trip with the team for its 26-3 victory at Tampa Bay on Sunday so he could rehabilitate the sprained posterior collateral ligament in his right knee at the Jets' facility.

He didn't practice last week after being injured in the team's 19-13 win over Buffalo in Toronto on Dec. 3. Kellen Clemens replaced him under center against the Buccaneers.

I just don't want to rush him. The big picture warrants caution.

He was fine last week, they took it slow. He's good to go this week, if they think he can do more damage he won't play but I'll be shocked if he's not playing Sunday.

I guess we will know in a few days if Rex and Sanchez are exchanging hand gestures again this week.

I'm agree with this. I think the Jets staff felt they could beat tampa with Brad Smith and QB and Feely running the wild cat if they had to. Sanchez got an extra by week because we were playing a high school offense.

I don't see why you think it says that he wont play. I still have hope that he plays, if he doesn't it's going to be a really tough game to win.

My reading between the lines of Sanchez' tweet is that he is smart enough to have learned (by his own faux pas and the bad tweets of others) for Sanchez to pre-empt Rex's decision and say anything that suggests that he is "good to go" this weekend. The fact that he simply posted vanilla garbage is a "good sign" to me as it shows that he can "learn".

yeah his twitter won't have anything about him playing until rex makes an announcement. i'm sure the whole team has been addressed about using twitter after all the crap it has created this year.

one thing rex hasn't done this year is play mind games with opposing teams & the media, something mangini was always doing IMO, and hide a players status up until friday before the game. i wonder if he's playing a little hide the QB from Atlanta?

It can't hurt as long as Sanchez gets plent of reps in practice and isn't rusty. If atlanta is thinking they'll get the backup this week or a starter that's not 100 percent, maybe they don't focus on the passing game as much?

I'm almost certain that Sanchez doesn't operate his own Twitter account most of the time.
