Vince Young Makes AFC Pro-Bowl Roster as 7th Alternate

    Wow. At what point does this not even become an All-Star game, with all the guys dropping out due to injuries, plus the SB players not being in it this year?

    By the way, by 7th alternate, I really meant 7th option (4th alternate). Schaub replaced Brady, Young replaced Rivers after Palmer and Roethlisberger said no. Seems to be no motivation whatsoever for guys to play this year. If Manning makes the SB, all 3 AFC QBs will be out.

    This was, of course, entirely predictable. The Pro Bowl has always been a joke, but the NFL has now made it the biggest joke in sports. Good job, boys!

    *shrug*

    I'd rather watch Schaub/Young than Brady/Rivers/Manning. I don't harbor any ill will towards the former.

    Just gives these guys trophies and no game. I can't watch the Pro Bowl! It's embarrassing to see VY get in this year.

    Being named to the team is the real gig, who actually plays in the game is an afterthought. Ken O'Brien played in a handful of Pro Bowls, but I'm not sure if he was ever actually considered a Pro Bowler. That's originally why they moved the game to Hawaii--as a reward and incentive for guys to show up and get someone to play.

    Roger Goodell did the impossible, he made the pro bowl LESS interesting.

    They should just name the teams and be done with it, no need for a game.

    They should rename it the "Late Round Fantasy Picks Bowl".

    I completely agree. They could still do all the skills stuff durign the week if guys want to participate.....invite some kickers, QBs, and WR/RBs/DBs to do some of the skills and give the winners some award until the following year....but unless something legitimate is in the balance, it is pointless to have a game and risk injury.

    Its getting a little ridiculous isn't it? The Pro-Bowl should just be scrapped, before it was only because it was in Hawaii. Now that it's wherever the Superbowl is there will always be alternates all over the roster.
