now then I would catch myself thinking about what it would be like to win a super bowl. I can't even imagine it, but the thing that comes to mind for some reason is this logo and this helmet, [IMG] and how it will take on a new meaning... Kind of like how when you look at a steelers logo or (yes...) a pats logo, and you see them boys lining up on the LOS with that helmet on, it stands for quality, dedication to winning, and consistency... The steelers have a long history of that, but the pats werent jack shit before 2001, and they made it happen by (yes having Tom Brady), but establishing a tradition and locker room ethic that perpetuated itself. that's something I've been wanting for so long now. I've tried to stay pessimistic but I feel like this is the first year this is changing and we owe a lot to Rex Ryan for that. He's purposely trying to change it by making players proud to wear that logo. The things it stands for is hard work, dedication, skill and PHYSICAL play.

Along with that we now have 2 homegrown players going into their 4th year in David Harris and Darrelle Revis who are TOP NOTCH top of the line, best in the league players. These players are gonna step up and be leaders. This is the first year I ever experienced having a guy like Revis who is undoubtly the fucking best in the NFL at his position. Even fans around the league who hate the Jets respect and fear him. This is new. Even under mangini's first year, we had a feeling of progress, but I dont think the players on the squad had pride and passion for the game like we did this year.

Like I said, I try to stay pessimistic because in 04 we had a good feeling and 05 tanked. In 06 we had a good feeling and in 07 tanked. So I'm aware of the pattern but this time it feels different. finally we have the pieces in place to become on of the most feared and respected franchise in the NFL. I'm excited. When people are in our house and they hear that J-E-T-S chant, they will fear it and respect it.

    What about our underdog status?
Maybe we should go back to the 78-97 logo...just to sneak up on other teams.

Wait, you are trying to stay pessimistic? Isn't the idea to be optimistic?

The question now is: Has the organization learned from those two years? Will they build the trenches and not let either line become sub-par?

Our cornerstone franchise players are all very young, all we really need is some depth on both lines and a decent corner opposite Revis and we are set for years to come.

Don't forget Nick Mangold. He is arguably the best offensive lineman in the NFL right now.

It is very different now. The whites are whiter and the greens are greener, can't explain it but the only word that comes to mind is "glowing" This is a very different organization and team top to bottom and I mean "sureal". It's like waking up one morning after a hards day of work the night before and discovering you won the Lottery. Just plugging along day by day and wow, you don't have to clock in anymore. What are you going to do with these new found benefits? Amazingly sureal!
