I know Bay is better than this, but to not get at least a run home in the 8th with less than two outs is inexcusable. A ground ball would have scored a run there. Of course, Mets score 2 in the 9th and lose by a run. Gotta love it. I know it's early, but the more we lose, the more likely Minaya and Manuel are gone.

How is it the managers fault that Nieve walked two guys, and then Valdes gave up a home run?

I think Olli could have gone one more batter, but I wasn't upset that jerry took him out.

Yeah, the big problem with Bay is that he is SO streaky and so hit or miss.

This is a game they should have won, and a game we can look back at if they miss the playoffs, and point out how they should have won this.

Luckily theres 152 games left to fix that, but they need to turn things around soon.

The thing that pisses me off is that Nieve had an 0-2 count on both batters he faced. Have some fucking balls, son.

    Fuckin VALDES? VALDES?!

He was supposed to be a LOOGY at best, yet you bring him in for the righty... Okay, if you want to say Feliciano, our best non-K ROD BP guy, has the stomach bug or whatever - fine. What about Igarashi? Takahashi? Come on. VALDES was his answer?

Hilarious -- IF they miss the playoffs, as if it isn't a foregone conclusion. Come on, man.

Agreed. I'm pretty much indifferent about everything right now. This team has no balls, hasn't for years. The more we lose, the more likely those ass clowns Minaya and Manuel are gone. I can't stand this roster. And having the Yanks across the river winning every night and getting rings and raising flags, etc., etc. I just don't give a shit right now. Lose, lose, lose, and start thinking about the future. It sucks, being that it's the 2nd week of the season, but this team is no better than it was last year. When they pitch good, they can't hit. When they actually score run, they can't pitch. They get guys on base, they can't get them in. I'm fucking used to it. disappointment is all part if rooting for this fucking team.

    Fuck you, Minaya.

Well they better fix this quick, because by the time Beltran comes back they might be done.

will the Mets finally win back to back games in the month of April, May or will it take clear into June?
they could have 252 games left, it wouldn't change the fact that the players on the team aren't very good.

    There's a scary thought.

You know a team is going to be good when they're able to effortless interweave terrible pitching performance blowout losses while running the gamut of ways to lose every close game. In the first 10 games no less.

If I would have told you in June or July of 2007 the Rockies would have made the world series, you would have laughed in my face.

    But they did.

Santana is looking beastly today 7 IP no ER and 9 K's.
Too bad the Mets can't hit now and he most likely won't get the W.

What a fucking shocker....we get a great pitching performance, and we can't hit the ball. Against some no name, too. Oh...and we can't get a hit from one of our "star" players in the clutch. Oh my God. Have I seen this movie before? How does this movie usually end?

Cards fan here. I hope Santana keeps his ass right there on the bench because we aren't touching him today.

at least we didn't have great hitting today, because that would have resulted in santana getting lit up.

Santana probably would've done a better job hitting there than Frank Catalanotto.
