I wouldn't be surprise if Belichicken packages some of them for a another 2011 1st rd pick....for a total of 3 (he has Oakland's) Than he would start trading down next year .......it's a never ending process for Belichicken.
In order: Linval Joseph Cam Thomas Ricky Sapp Corey Wootten Nate Allen Morgan Burnett Koa Misi Vlad Ducasse Rodger Saffold John Jerry Eric Norwood I believe though that Burnett and Joseph and probably everyone else on my list will be gone by our pick. We should really consider a trade-up in rd 2
Any of our big 4 draft guys (E, GH, JJ, or WW), what do you guys think about the kid from Northeastern, I know I'm gonna spell it wrong, Wootten?? I know last season (junior year?) he was a beast and this year he kind of (sort of) fell off a bit. Assuming we stay at 61st and most of the guys who's names are getting throw around (Thomas, Kindle, Joseph, Griffen, etc.) are gone, is he a solid choice?? Appreciate the feedback, in advance.
Really thought we were about to get Kindle 29th, but the more I read and learn about Kyle Wilson, the more I love this pick. Great addition to what was already a top 5 secondary in the league. Saw a quote from Steve Young earlier, something like this: "The Jets are going to blitz 8 and let Revis, Wilson, and Cromartie handle the rest. That is scary in my mind." Can't wait for September 13th! My dad and I will be coming up from Alabama to watch our first Jets game! J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!
Guinness, I watched the Wooten kid from Northwestern play in the Outback Bowl against Auburn (I am huge Auburn fan) and I really wasn't impressed. He definitely didn't stand out. Kind of get the impression that he is just a big body, not much of an athlete. Better players on the board, imo.
My bad. You're right, it's only three. Still, that's 2 more than I'm comfortable with. They could use two to trade up and nab Kindle.
You'll get a lot of disagreement on him here. I see him as a 43 end only, too much of a passrusher's mindset to play 34 end like his size would suggest.
I thought he may have been banged up the last 5 or 6 games of the year. I remember him from his Junior year and he was a fuckin beast. I saw that game too, and I don't remember seeing much of him. I know there wasn't much defense in that game, but, now i'm getting older, my memory ain't that great anymore, i thought maybe he was playing hurt in Nov. and Dec.
Thanks. I would rather not see us trade up, unless it's someone of our present roster and not anymore picks. I think a lot of the names getting thrown around on the board aren't realistic toward 61st. Then again, I'm surprised most of these guys are still available going into round 2.
Mid Round 3-4 Defensive Linemen Cam Thomas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Npe9dFUyGJ4 Lamarr Houston http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M0Mn3o8KBY Alex Carrington http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAvEloMMOhQ Carrington is more of a pass rusher but he has the strength to stand up a tackle against the run in a 5 technique. He would be a decent end to add to the team - Better than Devito or Pitoitua, anyway. Lamarr Houston is a player who I feel would excel at 3-4 end and has the strength to power through double teams while possessing the agility and hand speed to be, as far as 3-4 linemen are concerned, a great pass rusher in the mold of Ellis (who has ranked in the top of 3-4 linemen in the league for sacks for years, leading two years ago if I remember correctly). Cam Thomas is a bigger player who could learn the defense at end before moving to nose duty to act as more of a run stuffer. He has good penetrating ability but has difficulty disengaging from blockers in the run game. 3-4 Outside Linebackers Daniel Te'o-Nesheim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmv0jJqpYMg Brandon Sharpe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILiCH69hto8 Just remember, Rex Ryan likes bigger pass rushers (Adalius Thomas, Terrell Suggs, now Jason Taylor) that have strength. Koa Misi doesn't have that strength. Kindle doesn't. Sapp and Worilds don't. Look for Te'o-Nesheim to the Jets, or if he's taken, Sharpe, because he's the only other pass rusher in this draft who wouldn't be a run liability.
I'm going to sleep tonight and I'm going to dream about Tanny using Leon, Thomas, Clemens, or Faneca as trade fodder to augment an existing pick...
Quite honestly. I didn't know much about him, but DAY-UMMM. This kid looks like a serious player. He is fucking quick. Looks like he could play the run alright, too.
God. Damn. This guy looks like a great player. Never heard of him before but he's now on my wishlist.
