This is in response to the list posted in this thread :

    http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=7183

Here is my list of the top 20 players in the NFL based on the impact they will have for their team in 2006:

    1. Tom "muther F'n" Brady, QB, Patriots. There is not a more impactful player in football. Makes Joe Montana look like a nervous byatch.

    2. LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, Chargers. This guy can take over games single handedly. He's like Walter Payton, Terell Davis, and Barry Sanders all in one. He lives up to the hype.

    3. Carson Palmer, QB, Bengals. This guy is the second coming of christ. If he recovers from his injury and is only half as good as before, he'll still be better than 99% of the QB's in this league today.

    4. Terrell Owens, WR, Cowboys. I know a lot of you are gonna hate this pick, but when the Cowboys are in the superbowl this year and Drew is the MVP, you'll all know the reason why. You won't admit it, but you'll know.

    5. Steve Smith, WR, Panthers. Best reciever to grace the NFL since Rice. With Smith they are contenders to win the S.B. Without him they are 8-8.

    6. Champ Bailey, CB, Broncos. Can change the coarse of an entire season with one play. HOF material.

    7. Larry Johnson, RB, Chiefs. Can anyone say 2,000 yards? how about 2,300 yards? Best pure runner of his generation.

    8. Peyton Manning, QB, Colts. Will put up amazing numbers. Will win 3 times as many rings as marino when he retires. BTW 3 X 0 = ZERO.

    9. Tiki Barber, RB, Giants. The last 32 regular season games he has played have been a clinic on how to play RB in the NFL. IMO he was the MVP last year.

    10. Shaun Alexander, RB, Seahawks. With that 05' O-line he is number one on my list. But they lost a very important part of that line to the Vikings. He'll still kick ass.

    11. Torry Holt, WR, Rams. Owens and Smith are the best, and this guy is as good as them, but his team just really sucks.

    12. Troy Polamalu, S, Steelers. Impact is this guys middle name. If he continues to grow i could see him in the top 5 next year.

    13. Walter Jones, T, Seahawks. I could put up a 3.5 average behind this dude LOL!

    14. Marcus Stroud, DT, Jaguars. Freak of nature!

    15. Sean Taylor, S, Redskins. Great young player. Future legend?

    16. Donovan McNabb, QB, Eagles. Fourth best QB in the league needs to make the top 20 list. Use to be super over rated, now he's super under rated.

    17. Michael Vick, QB, Falcons. You might not remeber this guy but he plays for a team in the NFC, I just can't remember which one =) 3 words, "Under the Radar". He is gonna' sneak up on a lot of teams this year. I wouldn't be suprized with a 3,000/1,000 yeard performance and a NFC title game birth.

    18. Chad Johnson, WR, Bengals. He'll get in your head and in your endzone. He'll be better than Smith and Owens one day.

    19. Brian Urlacher, LB, Bears. He's all about identity. He's the face of the Bears, and a pretty scary one at that.

    20. Chad Pennington, QB Jets... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry had to do it LOL! However, the 20 spot could end up being Johhny Abe from good Ol' Hotlanta. I see that dude having a major break out year. My guess?:18 sacks. Pro bowl. Maybe a ring. :jets:

Did the Cowboys draft some young, franchise-saving, prospect named Drew that I didn't read about? Because I KNOW you can't be thinking that Old Stone Feet has suddenly reinvented himself into an MVP quarterback.

youve tried to pull of an impossible task here.....but you have like 3 defensive players on the whole list so right off the bat its way way off....this really cant be done, but your effort was sorely lacking

Anyone interested in posting their own list????

I'd like to hear some defensive names I've missed besides Seymore and Bruscci.

P.S. Drew is gonna' light it up this year in big D, and he'll spank Brady in the superbowl and retire a champion.

If you add 2 defensive players to the top 20, who do you take off the list? Maybe Chad Johnson and Tory Holt?

I'd say Julius Peppers is more of an impactful player than Chad Johnson. More consistent. But thats about it.

Any specific offensive players you feel should be off this list?
