Too many easy drops, letting people snatch away the football (bs or not..you hold onto the football), and not making plays when it was needed. Schotty doesn't drop passes and neither does sanchez. it's on them pretty much, and rex's coaching mistakes also (timeout management, challenge management)...
Sanchez had accuracy problems all game. He did make some good throws that were dropped but several of the drops happened because he didn't put the ball where he needed it to be. The whole passing game was just broken today.
The last Cotchery drop was garbage... it was a clear catch and fumble. He had possession and two feet on the ground. It should have been held onto regardless but it was a shit missed call by the officials who seemed to give everything to the Packers today. Including those two INTs which were clearly not especially the Keller play.
If anyone blames this game on Sanchez they are moronic. In that wind, I thought Sanchez played as good as can be expected. The receivers were atrocious. They dropped everything, and that coupled with the penalties was insurmountable. Just an awful performance by the offense as a whole, but I thought Sanchez definitely held his end of the bargain.
Both interceptions were bad calls. But at the end of the day the Jets had so many opportunities and they just kept shooting themselves in the foot. They beat themselves with all those penalties and drops and deserved to lose.
I think the technical rules to be considered a catch are the "catch+move" rule, where not only would Cotch have to show possession with the catch and the 2 feet down, but he'd have to make some type of move with the ball as well to really rule the ball as caught.
Oh stop.. the Packers had WR drops too. James Jones dropped a sure touchdown down the sideline. This game shouldn't have been been close, Pack should have won BIG.
bingo, the recieving corps are the primary reason for this loss. they just couldnt catch a cold today. awful and pathetic..........defense played lights out
This loss must be getting to your head today. The rule hasn't been possession and two feet for a long time on plays in the field of play. It is a catch with possession and a football move. He got hit as his feet hit the ground and lost the ball right away.
So the inaccurate nature of Sanchez today was not to blame? He threw more passes in the dirt or to the moon than he did to the receivers. The receivers dropped a couple of passes, but not every drop was a simple catch either. The play calling was lacking and the offensive play from the skill positions were lacking, but how did Sanchez play as good as could be expected?, Actually what does that even mean? He played as well as can be expected given his defense allowed (for all intents and purposes) 6 points and he just came off of a bye week? Or he played as well as can be expected given how little chances he had with the ball ? (Oh wait he had plenty of chances because again the DEF played incredibly) What end of what bargain did Sanchez hold up? 16 for 38 with zero touchdowns and you're saying people who don't believe Sanchez played up to par are morons? Really ? So what would have been a sub par game ??? 0 for 20 with no TDs and 3 INTs? I'm just asking because if this was holding up his end of the bargain?, I just want to know for future reference when I'm allowed to blame certain players for a loss.
Most of the calls were good calls. That last Cotch drop was definitely a drop. The Keller int was definitely an int. The only one that they flat out got wrong was the cotch int. That was clearly ripped out of his hands after the play was over. That said Cotchery was absolutely god afwul today. The offensive line did an excellent job at pass protection, LT had some trouble with his feet and fell on his face a few times that he could of made huge plays (he still had a solid game but missed some huge opps) And I think the play calling/time management the last 4 minutes of the game was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING RETARDED. This is the 2nd time the jets have shown they have no fucking clue how to work the clock, and whoever is repsonible for this (assuming its not Rex) should immediately be terminated. How many games do we have to blow or almost blow before someone learns how to manage the fucking clock. Our 2nd to last drive, the final play callin was atracious. We took our last timeout when we shouldnt of. And we had plenty of time on the clock to punt the god damn ball on 4th down (we could of punted it with almost 3 minutes, other team would have to run 3 plays and we would of gotten the ball back with just under a minute and a half) The defense and pass protection were stellar but some of these other guys were just a joke
I couldn't agree more with this thread. Sanchez played a decent game - moved around the pocket well and avoided a few sacks. The two interceptions were lousy calls. Dual possession with both players on the ground means it is a downed completion. I can't believe that the refs blew the call twice in one game. Jets receivers had close to five drops. Have to give credit to Green Bay though. They shut down our running game. That, and the dropped passes, are what cost the Jets this game.
