the lions scored more points against the pats with shawn hill as their QB than the lions did against the jets with stafford. it's not as if the lions were completely inept on offense yesterday. in fact the lions scored as many points against the pats as the jets did. if it weren't for that brad smith end round and the kickoff return for a TD, the jets would have scored 12 points against the 2-9 bengals.
And this helps your argument how? The Pats D blows. lmao. Yes, they would have just quit trying to score if neither of those events occurred. Not only that but they would have punted immediately following both of those plays had Smith not scored, because you know, they weren't going to score otherwise. The game would have played out exactly the same minus those two plays.
Exactly -- What does that tell you about the Jets defense compared to the Pats defense? Take some time and think about it. Just for the record - proper nouns should be capitalized. I do not let my fourth graders get by without mentioning it and I am assuming you are older than nine.
So? Games are won in the NFL for all sorts of reasons. If it weren't for the Rams throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble, the Patriots would have only scored 3 points in Super Bowl 36.
Well, 5 yards is great when you need 4, not so great when you need 10-20. I just don't see "the Seminole" moving the chains all that often and rarely does it go for really big yards anymore. The league has caught up to the WC/Seminole/give it a name play. Maybe it's when Schotts calls the play.
ROFL you are making fun of my grammar now? What a joke. Good for the Jets D being so great. They are only a top 5 defense in this league, not the number 1. We've already taken care of the Ravens and Steelers, both of whom have better defenses. You keep hyping your D and putting down ours- but what about our number 1 rated offense? The pats O is now clicking on all cylinders and that's without Stephen Neal or Fred Taylor. Moreover, our D has handled better offenses than the jets including Indy, Pitt and Baltimore. The Jets O is more comparable to the miami offense. BTW Sanchez is the worst QB of any of the contenders - so gl with him.
Too bad you don't have the chance to "take care" of the Jets. The best you can do is split with the Jets. As for Sanchez, keep underrating him. I have no problem with that. So, good luck with that defense of yours.
you are simply repeating what the analysts are saying. they have been making fun of our D all year. yes we've struggled on D but that is against very good teams. however, the jets offense has been struggling against average teams. pats are more of well rounded team.
least we won all the "softies" if there is such a thing in the NFL. We are going to fuck up those turds from Buffalo and Dolphins aren't far behind in futility.
The Jets offense is 10nth in yards/game and the Pats are 12th. (The Jets are a little better offensively than you think :wink The Jets have a MUCH more balanced offensive attack than the Pats do. Also, the Jets put up 28 points and well over 300 yards of offense on your beloved Pats in week 2.
If I was simply repeating what the analysts were saying, I'd be bashing the Jets and sacrificing livestock in Belichick's name. And since you want to go down this route - heaven knows why - the Jets are statistically much more well-rounded. Now, these statistics are slightly skewed because of the Jets, Pats, Lions, Cowboys, Saints, and Bengals having one more game than the rest of the league, but it still serves as a barometer. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics The Jets are statistically the fifth overall offense to the Pats' eighth. The Jets have the 15th passing offense in the league - not the best, just slightly above average - and the Pats have the eighth best passing offense. The Jets have the second best rushing offense, compared to tenth for the Pats. And while Belichick and his desire to run it up has the Pats at the top of the league in scoring offense, the Jets are sixth. All in all, a slight offensive advantage to the Pats offense. They are a little more productive offensively, and a little more well-rounded on the offensive side of the ball, while the Jets are still above average in all offensive statistics, and have a better ground game. Defensively, in overall yardage, the Jets are 11th. The Pats are dead last. In passing defense, the Jets are 17th, right at the mean line of 16/17. The Pats are dead last. In rushing defense, the Jets are fifth, the Pats 21st. In points allowed, the Jets are fifth, the Pats are 24th. So, while taking into account the fact that both teams have played an extra game over 26 other teams, the Jets are at or above average in all of the above categories on both sides of the ball. The Pats have a slightly better offense statistically, and a considerably worse defense statistically. Sure you want to keep pounding your chest about the Pats being more well-rounded?
Oh, no doubt. And he'll keep yelling, even though the facts prove his points to be wrong and imbecilic.
Until proven otherwise we are better. We beat the Pats 28-14 with Randy Moss, while we were without Pace, Revis, Pryce, and Holmes. While the Pats added Woodhead. Lmao We're in first and that's all that matters. Cleveland beat you because they followed our model.
We'll hear all week how great Brady is under pressure, when anyone who has been paying attention the last decade knows the way to beat Brady is to get in his face. This notion that he somehow handles pressure so well is just false. But we'll hear plenty of it. I trust Rex, Pettine, and the defensive staff to be ready to put all the pressure they can on Brady.
What happened? As soon as the stats showed him to be full of it, the Brady troll vanished? Surprise, surprise, surprise...
The key is pressure, pure and simple. Logan Mankins coming back is big. The Jets pressured Brady bigtime earlier this year in the 2nd Half and in the 1st game last year (they had only a few sacks that day but TONS and TONS of HURRIES AND PRESSURES). They didn't touch Brady in the game last year in NE. Unless Sanchez throws 4 picks which I don't expect, you tell me how many sacks/pressures the Jets get on Brady, and I'll tell you if they win or not.
