With the possibility of Cromartie/Braylon being released/traded and LT retiring which of the 3 do you think losing would have the biggest impact on our team ? We got a young Greene/Mcknight behind LT, a star studded recieving corp to step in Braylons wake, and Kyle Wilson/Lowery/Coleman behind Cromartie. Its crazy how fortunate we are to have such depth behind our stars, but at the same time could be very worrysome if these young guys arent ready to step up.
Can we just concentrate on this year please. After all we are 9-2 right now and getting ready for a big MNF game at the Razor next week.
Cromartie and Braylon will neither be traded, nor be released. LT is signed for next year as well. He won't go anywhere. We don't have a lineup of superstars behind Braylon. Santonio is the only capable WR while Cotchery has regressed this year even when Santonio was not here. We need to keep them all. No way we lose more than one player between these three AND Santonio.
Ok not "released' but their contracts will end and they wont be on the team anymore likely due to monetary restraints.
Well at this point id say its a lock that we keep Santonio. And while I think we need to keep Braylon/Cromartie you gotta be honest and realize that these guys are going to command serious money that we probably wont be able to afford. Finally who knows if LT will retire, especially if we achieve his goal this year. I mean JT is under contract for next year and you know he aint coming back
Cotchery has not regressed. He had one bad game (was still our leading receiver in that game) and is now injured. His stats just weren't spectacular because of all the other weapons we have. J-Co is fine, and I expect him to be playing in Foxboro killing the Patriots like he always does.
I'd rather see how they perform the entire season before I would pick who we should keep/cut. I'd def want to keep Harris and Braylon tho.
It's a tough call. Holmes has definitely shown to be a clutch receiver and aside from one game has good hands. Edwards while not as dynamic, is a large body target that's a good security blanket for Sanchez and a good blocker in the run game (which you know Rex likes) They complement each other very well. I think Holmes is a better receiver, but we all know there's usually other shit behind the scenes, and not just gameday performance, including other free agents and how they'd fit in the mix if the JETS can't afford one of the 2.
I think Tanny finds a way to keep Cro, Harris and Edwards even if it means busting out the franchise tag on Harris. I'd say unless Holmes screws up again it's a lock he is back. The guy is a big time WR and has shown to be our most explosive offensive player. I think our biggest need next year will be finding a pass rusher. Having a guy that can get to QB and terrorize him is going to put our D at an elite level.
I know I hate to bring it up but if we can't keep both Holmes/Edwards, their is a certain ex-giant that will be getting out of jail during the offseason I believe, and will come at a cheap price.
This is what we need. We haven't been able to get to the QB all year. Maybe some more line help on both sides, too. They keep saying we have the best o-line in the league, but it doesn't seem like we're opening up any run lanes.
LT will only retire if the Jets win the super bowl. and even then, he may decide to come back and repeat. Definitely need to keep Slantonio and Cromartie. We will most likely lose Jason Taylor. Trevor Pryce may retire. Braylon has been giving good reasons to why we should sign him but it may be hard given that Harris needs a new deal too. Definitely will be an interesting offseason but first lets wait to see how we do come early February.
