Loved the call, my first thought was it looked like Greene had the first down, when I realized Sanchez was walking in with a TD, just awesome. Reminds me of Joe Namath vs the Giants at the Yale Bowl my first year watching the Jets, 1974.
That's what I love about US fans, me included. It's a brilliant call because it worked so well, if he would've been tackled in the backfield each poster would've had a "better" playcall. It's the beauty of knowing everything but not having it publicly scrutinized in live action. lol
That was borderline, but I don't think he even made contact, and the way he fell it was as if he legs came out from under him.
I thought the same thing when I saw the replay! If he had made contact, there is no way that doesn't get called. That would have been the most boneheaded and costly penalty ever because it was totally unnecessary. Jets are very lucky that he whiffed.
im not gonna lie.. my heart was beating when they lined up and i just thought pitt was gonna stop em.. and when i saw SANCHEZ ran it to the end zone i just went wild.. it really stunned me for a second.. it was a great callll
Almost an exact replica of the Raiders and the Chargers a few weeks ago- that one even faked the cameraman out of his jock.
That was my initial reaction as well that Greene had picked up the first down then I see the camera pan out and Sanchez walking into the endzone
Yeah I think everybody was like "ok cool Greene got the first down" then went nuts when they saw Sanchez running into the end zone uncontested.
I heard that Espn is considering writing this article in a "Rex friendly format" where the title "Seven Yards Could Change Jets Season" will be converted to feet. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
It was a great call, and Sanchez executed it perfectly! That's the key IMO. Best one I've seen since I saw Flutie do it many years aago.
