"What a great story this is" Really? I think this story sucks but we all embrace and cheer it because it's gonna lead to a much needed change in the NFL.
Hasselbeck didn't answer the question. I didn't expect Seattle to win outright, but I expected a close game and I thought they had a reasonable chance, considering the peripherals (7-9 team playing SB champs).
They just played a great game and handled the saints....they won their division and earned that home playoff game, enough with the complaining dude
If anything it would help, at least I think so. By most measures the Saints were a better team than Seattle this season. If this game was in New Orleans, I doubt Seattle would have won. Their fans will raise hell about it. This is what can happen when a turdish division winner with a great home field advantage hosts a playoff game.
If you win your division you get a home game. The fact that this is the first under .500 team to host a game shows this instance was an aberration, not the norm. If the Jets were div winner at 9-7 and had to go to a wild card team that's 10-6 people would scream foul. And rightly so.
I never had a problem with this system in the past. The problem this year is that all four games are affected this weekend. The fact that Seattle had a losing record is not the issue for me. If Seattle was 8-8 or 9-7 or 10-6 or 11-5 that still would not have been good enough to better New Orleans in the seeding under my proposal.
Seattles already proved they deserve to be in the playoffs, I think Green Bay wins so Seattle sees Chicago. Think they have a chance?
Not sure if you were replying to me or not. Yeah, they deserve to be in the playoffs. After all, they won their division. Somewhere on this board last Sunday, I mentioned that Seattle already won in Chicago this year and if they should beat the Saints and the Packers beat the Eagles, well...
Nah not quoting, was just posting. I'm just wondering if Seattle has enough firepower to go on the road and play like this every week, the running game needs to keep it up for the consistency.
I think Seahawks will lose next week. Playing at Atlanta is not an attractive proposal, but neither is Chicago in January. At least in Atlanta they wouldn't have the cold weather issue.
Atlanta also has an intense pass rush, something New Orleans didnt show much of in this game. I think with Chicago you can atleast hope for the bad Jay Cutler and bring the pressure. ATL would be their worst matchup.
Except that we've only had four-team divisions for eight years. This might not be as much of an abberation in the future.
