"You could tell from this little workout that he has the tools, that he has what it takes to be a great player." I know it Cimini but.....
Players can get a sense for other players, so I do take this comment by DeVito somewhat seriously. To be so impressed by a guy after an hour raises an eyebrow to what Wilk could do once (hopefully) TC rolls around.
The comment was definitely nice but it's not like DeVito will come out and say, "Yeah.. not gonna lie this guy kinda sucks"
As ever, it probably depends on context. If DeVito was asked, "So how does Wilkerson look?" then his answer is fairly predictable, but if the question was, "How's training going?" and his response was, "Man, you've got to see Muhammad Wilkerson play. I tell you what, he's going to be an instant star...." then it's rather more encouraging.
But he had no reason to give him such high praise, he could've just said yeah practice is going well and ended it.
I so want this guy to be a big, dominant presence up front. Getting such high praise from a guy who is competing for playing time is a good sign, but we won't know what we've got until camp.
Kenrick is training in Florida. I'm not worried about Shaun, if the lockout doesn't end soon Sanchez is rallying the troops anyway.
Nice to see that Pitoitua is there and working out too. With the amount of time he's gone without any type of organized football activity, he needs every bit of this he can get to contribute next year.
Of course not. They never said that about Gholston. They said, "he's coming along." I'm honestly surprised that DeVito gushed about him so quickly over an hours worth of 101 training. Its a good sign. Like Madbacker said, he could have very well said, "yeah the kid looked good out there. Can't wait to see him in TC."
