Supposedly there was an article about how Sanchez was yelling/arguing with someone but didn't see who it was -- think that was Schotty?
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-drive...-saves-Jets-season?module=HP11_content_stream Google is a wonderful thing, sir.
It didn't appear to be Schotty - the rant seemed to be directed at a group of defensive players, but it's impossible to tell exactly who and it could easily have been a coach or assistant just out of picture (see screen grabs below). Mark looked pissed right after the TD. He then popped off at someone on the sidelines - he really leaned in to give them an earful before stalking off. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
it was very interesting for me to watch. As an overseas fan I have only been able to get access to NFL games on a regular basis with the advent of the interwebz, before that it was really just highlight shows once a week, and as I have never played the game my knowledge of the detail of the game is way behind the majority of proper fans in the US. I bought a copy of the Pat Kirwan book Take Your Eyes of the Ball which I found fascinating. Although I do tend to go emo on game days when you begin to understand all that is going on on the field (blocking scheme, coverage schemes, route running) it brings a huge level of respect for those players that can really perform.

Yea I just figured he was yelling at the defense to get them going. Something like now end this fucking thing.
Props to you man. To be a fan of a team that you barely ever had access to their live games on tv or anything is pretty impressive. You deserve alot of credit. I was watching an interview with woody or tanny, and they discussed their interest in playing a game overseas, hopefully for your sake that will be sooner rather than later
great drive by mark and the O...did anyone notice the fake pump to get the guy turn towards keller and then throwing to Ton? awesome play!
^That was a great move. Sanchez, when he's on top of his game, has typically utilized the pump fake well, I think. I think this might have been the case, too. The Jets Beat Writers said when they talked to Brodney on Monday, Brodney indicated that Sanchez said something with the connotation of, "Let's finish. Let's finish this."
In all fairness, and I hate Schotty...Baldy pointed out that the play design was to get the flat open, and that pass was there for a first down and clock stoppage.
What a beautiful final drive from Sanchez and the Jets. The sideline completion to Plaxico was all Mark Sanchez. Sanchez read the safety pre snap, and knew he had Burress one on one on the outside. Yes, Burress made a great sideline catch, and kept two feed in bounds, but Sanchez delivered a perfectly placed strike. Sanchez also came up big on a clutch 3rd and 8 with an out route to Turner as well. Turner made a very nice catch, but Sanchez threw another strike. Put the ball where only his WR (Turner) could get it. Not taking anything away from the one handed grab from Plaxico either, because that was an amazing catch, but Sanchez came up big on 3rd and 11, placing the ball where only the WR could make the catch; over the CB and in front of the safety with a small 4 yard window. Now, the TD strike to Holmes was an outstanding performance by Sanchez. Read the defense, rolled out to the right, directed Holmes where to go on the run, and delivered a perfect game winning strike to Holmes (who only had about 2-3 feet of room before going out of bounds). Reminiscence of the 2009 postseason roll out against the Chargers. What a drive.
They definitely make things harder than it should be. That has been the only way I have known the Jets to do things since I can remember being a fan.
I agree. It's never helped the mentality our fan base knowing that we've always played in one of the toughest divisions either. During the mid to late 80's/90's we had to deal with Dan Marino and the Dolphins and especially the Bills being led by Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith etc, etc. Marino is one of the greatest QB's of all-time and those Buffalo teams were fully loaded. Then, after Buffalo and Miami fell off the map, we've had to deal with one of the greatest HC/QB duos of all-time in Belichick and Brady, along with a NE Patriots dynasty that's still running strong. Hopefully our strong run has just begun back in 09, because our fan base and franchise has been through alot over the years.
If that was the case it certainly didn't help because the D did their best to blow it. If not for Johnson's bad karma it was all over for the Jets.
I wouldn't say it had anything to do with karma, but everything to do with the fact that Stevie Johnson isn't a clutch WR with the pressure on. He's the opposite of Sanchez.
