Offense looked in synch and Sanchez looked great. Defense was awesome, but the offense was really clicking. Oh, then Holmes came off suspension and the offense hasn't looked the same until our last drive vs the dolphins today....

After that the offense didn't have the same flow and had to rely on 4th quarter comebacks. Sanchez seemed to try and force the ball to Holmes way to much... forcing us to not drive the scores up earlier in the games.

Holmes has been a problem since last season - we are just now fully talking about it.

I agree and wondered if the abandonment of the run all year wa sdue to WRs demanding a pass 1st offense?

Maybe Tanny can work his magic and give up Santonio and a draft pick for a RB.

What type of RB would Holmes and Green buy?

Holmes was great in 2010. He won like three games for us. WTF are you talking about?

I didn't post this last year, but didn't at the same time I didn't see anyone post it last year. I was just happy that we were winning.

No player should be able to dictate how a team plays. Ill give the Patriots propaganda machine credit, but they are correct in describing themselves as "The Patriots Organization."

I guess as long as we are a "Franchise" with individuals we will not move forward.

I fully support Rex because of the pride he has given myself as a longtime Jets fan, but we need to reorganize the organization like we did in 2009 to reinstill the attitudes and behaviors we desire.

Without him we might have not been in that position at all. All speculation. Maybe we would have grinded down the lower ranked teams we went to OTs/4th quarter comebacks with. Keller's production dropped off when Holmes was in.

Holmes had some amazing plays in games we didn't have to grind out, but we will need a serious behavior and attitude reorganization this offseason.

Holmes is the only one I can speculate on right now - there are probably more.

Holmes in 2010 made our offence better I really can not see how anyone could think otherwise. I think you are remembering our 2009 offense a little too fondly. The D really won games for us the offense was not very good. I mean we were 9-7 that aint so great.

I do agree that Holmes sucked this year

I was screaming that all offseason and last season. Ever since Holmes stepped on the field our offense has been very tight and just mute.

Always liked Edwards, I wish he was still here.

I had the exact same thought last year. I thought it was pretty odd that even though he played major role in some our wins last year, when he wasn't there, the offense performed way better overall. I simply assumed it was a coincidence

Sanchez doesn't try to force the ball to Holmes.

If anything, it's the complete opposite. Holmes was targeted only once today.

It just seemed that Schotty's gameplans for most of our bigger games this season included the omission of targeting our #1/#2 WRs in Holmes and Burress, in favor of short dumps to the HBs and to Keller.

It could also be due to faulty play design/routes that don't create separation for our WRs, which creates a case where targetting the HBs/TE becomes the only option.

Classless/selfish antics from today's game aside, Holmes isn't the problem. I don't think Sanchez should be free of any criticism. However, I am not in favor of us giving up on him.

You can say what you want about Sanchez or Holmes but our biggest crutches this year offensively have been our porous OL play and Brian Schottenheimer.

It seems like you actually think that schotty's work description is to sit and draw routes that Holmes has never seen before and therefore it is schotty's fault that he doesn't get open. Give me a break!

I did not mean 'novel' routes, I meant routes designed creating areas of congestion and high traffic on the field, or playcalls with routes that dont cater to the on-field situation (especially on 3rd down), or designed plays where Sanchez has only one option to throw to that are destined to fail, which has happened this year.

I did not mean to say Holmes is free of criticism, either. Schotty is still a bigger problem.

It is getting to the point where the offense is in such shambles so it is a matter of opinion where the blame lies.

My take is, for what it is worth: shotty is a decent guy that knows his football, I think he has tried hard to develop and protect mark, never once has he even slightly hinted at throwing him under the bus, even if it must be horrible to know you are going to loose your job on the back of all this bonehead mistakes.
Schotty will have to go as that is the way football works, and we will get a new OC, and mark most likely will have a reasonable but not spectacular development, which I think he would have even if we kept schotty.
If we on the other hand changed qb, I think we could get a more spectacular change in 2012/13. But that is for next season.
