He'll most likely be out of Miami with their regime change. Showed some flashes under Sparano and I believe was a Parcells draft pick? Anyone think it's likely he winds up as Sanchez' backup/competition?
Rotoworld thinks so... "It will be interesting to see if Sparano brings along free agent Chad Henne to compete with Mark Sanchez this summer."
Henne is terrible. He was terrible under Sparano and will be terrible under pretty much any coach, because he is terrible. Hell. No.
Didn't Sparano bench Henne two seasons in a row? Why the hell would he want to bring him along with him?
Personally, I think Henne is better than Sanchez. He only played a few games this year, but he was a completely different quarterback. He was scanning the field, moving around in the pocket, going deep, very accurate, and not throwing picks. Basically everything he was doing wrong last year he was doing right this year. Either way, I think Henne would be perfect competition to Sanchez
Jets fans before yesterday were blasting henne and morono... You guys are acting like you were right when we beat you...Super Delusional Mode...
The most unfortunate thing about this thread, true or not, is that Henne is even considered Sanchez competition. How does it look for Sanchez to be challenged by a twice benched QB? At least give Mark the respect to be challenged by a back up that is probably better than him (Flynn, Orton).
Henne is not that much more talented than John Navarre was. Both of them benefited heavily from a pass-first attack at Michigan on mediocre teams that were often playing shootouts against lesser competition.
While I agree with the Henne/better back up to challenge Sanchez, I do have one bone to pick... not necessarily with you specifically, but with a sentiment in general... can we not have Matt Flynn as a better NFL quarterback than Mark Sanchez just yet? Can we see him play, I dunno, 10 games first, on a team without the best wide receiver corp in the league against a defense that didn't yield 500 yards a week? Could we? I have been watching the NFL a LONG time. I have seen a LOT of Matt Flynns. I have seen only about 2 of them actually turn into legitimate NFL quarterbacks. I am not saying Flynn couldn't be better than Sanchez, but, can we SEE him do it first, and not base it on such a limited sample?
Touche' Good point. Flynn may need a few more games to convince everyone, but not all back ups can put up those numbers against a starting D like he did.
For the love of good i hope Henne doesnt come here. Henne would probably play lights out in the preseason and force Sanchez out of the starting spot then proceed to vag it up on the field throughout the year.
I want nothing to do with Henne. I'd rather have Campbell. And I dont see how Flynn is going to come here. The Jets would probably have to outbid people for him and pay him a good amount of money to come here. Probably money you would have to give to a starter not someone you want to throw into a QB competition.
