It's good to see more support of Mark Sanchez in light of the absurd amount of heat he's been taking lately. I'm fairly certain Holmes has been behind some of the negative remarks.

This needs to be addressed promptly so this turmoil can be halted before any OTA's or training camps begin.

Hopefully they can weed out the malcontents and this can bring the locker room closer together as a rallying point. It seems like the Oline are accepting a lot of responsibility for the bad season too and most seem to at least acknowledge that the change at OC could be good for them.

One other thing that I read somewhere that I thought was true is Mangold said something to the effect that the fact that all of this is happening shows that everyone in their locker room really wanted to win. They all had really high hopes and are really upset that they didn't have a better season. Doesn't mean it's a good thing that some players are talking shit in the press (if these "sources" are even real) but it shows that those players want to win.

In a way it's better that there is all this noise because if after this season everyone just took off on vacations and not a word was said about it it would mean that they didn't care that they had a bad season, that they are complacent and that's a very bad thing for any team in any sport.

This is great. All you morons who want to replace Slauson are ridiculous, he's quickly becoming a leader and a very good player. I hope the Jets find who said these comments and they cut his ass, Rex hates negativity and they need to go. You don't hear the Bucs wanting to replace Freeman or the Rams wanting to replace Bradford but with high explications for the Jets everyone wants to blame the Jets flaws totally on Mark and not our other problems (RT, WR1, WR2, RB2, TE2, OLB, ILB, FS, SS). But blaming everything on Mark is easier, i get it trust me.

That being said Mark should make huge steps up next season and if he doesn't replacement would be necessary. But to blame this season on him totally when he had 32 TDs while having receivers not able to get open and dropping passes often and an o-line that allowed him to be sacked in the top percentage in the NFL, but ovi it was Mark's fault, lol.

In light of recent events with Rex opting to nix the the Captain badge for next season, It's sort of ironic now with all these Jets players stepping up in defense of Sanchez. Mangold, Slauson and Dixon are truly showing their stripes as leaders on this ball club.

Wow. 3 guys out of 53 come to his defense. 3, and 2 of them are offensive linemen, guys who you would expect to have his back.

Its more telling that Revis, Harris, Cro, Pace, Scott, Pouha, Mo, Greene, Tone, Plax, etc.. have said nothing...

No news is good news. It doesn't mean those guys aren't in Mark's corner.

3 came out against him... Without revealing themselves and you are throwing yourself a parade.

Not in this weather, it was a pain in the ass just to get to work this morning. No parade today. But rain or shine, there will be one when number 18 signs here and the bum is traded and/or released.

So, each time someone new comes out, are you going to say, 'Wow, only 'x' players are willing to come out for him. Where are [insert list of players minus the most recent players to come out]?

This isn't a soap opera, although the media is trying to turn it into one. These guys are on vacation.

There are probably more guys that do support him, but they don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill.

What bothered me about the article was that at the end of the year when it was falling apart, MS was the one trying to hold the team together.

Rex where are you man? Greene, Keller, Coach Callahan, Coach Cavanaugh, the offense was in a worse predicament than we all thought.

This will be the undoing of Rex, as a matter of fact it's the undoing of most coordinators who become HC, they cannot make the transition from Coordinator to HC.

It's pretty clear who the likely malcontents are: Holmes, Burress, Cromartie, etc.

So Revis can tweet about something yesterday, and not feel the need to defend his qb. Yeah, vacation, thats it.

At best its a few guys who dislike SAnchez and want him gone. At worst its the majority of the team. All I am saying is that it might be the latter.

Maybe you see it that way.

Others might see it as an indictment of a fractured locker room.

And others yet may see it as a lack of overall leadership in the locker room.

You are seeing what you decide to see.

I think there is no question we have a divided locker room and no leadership. We got rid of all our leaders before the season, and no new ones developed.

But again, you have this shit in probably evry team that didnt make the playoffs.

What is evidently clear with regards to both those things is that Sanchez is not a leader, and his presence divides the locker room. You think if Manning is here, even the biggest scumbag on this team says jackshit. You think if Manning is here, there will be no leadership.

What I am seeing is that the team, after a disappoinging season, largely because of the qb, is stating what a lot of us feel.

He is a total JAG who would be great as a backup for line depth. Put between two all pro's he is serviceable. Brick had a terrible year this year and it's not coinicedental that Mangold wasn't 100% and D'Brick had to cover to the inside all season.

Or maybe, like many athletes, they don't sit around and read stories about how shitty they are in the offseason. To a lot of athletes dealing with the press is a negative part of the job they just have to put up with because they get ripped by them year after year, their words get taken out of context, they ignore the positive stuff, they make stuff up, etc. etc.

Most guys don't actively seek out the press to voice their opinions at any point in the season. We don't need 50+ guys to all make a public announcement via the press on whether or not they support Sanchez. They don't need to all raise their hands in front of a camera to show the fans who believes what. I bet 99% of this kind of stuff is dealt with in house, just because we don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

When you get 50 people working together they aren't all going to get along and like one another. Maybe 3 people don't like Mark, maybe 33 don't like Mark, we have no idea. Hell, maybe these quotes from "anonymous sources" are completely fabricated by the journalist who wrote the story to generate hits, sell papers/magazines, have people tune into the radio...because that's certainly been the result and it wouldn't be the first time a journalist made something up (I went to J-School and we talked about that a lot).

Glad some players are defending him. Sanchez, while he needs to get better, is taking too much criticism.

My guess is that around 51 of the 53 Jets on the roster support Mark Sanchez. Maybe 53 since nobody can be sure that Mehta didn't get his "sources" from his imagination, Cimini-style

I just heard on the Radio that Woody Johnson also supported Sanchez on the radio today saying that he is "the first one in the building and the last one to leave every day".

I have a feeling this story is going to end up bringing the team closer together when all is said and done.
