We Run NY and the NFL. Lucky? Yeah, massive defensive injuries, horrible calls against them in both Packers games and Jets games and some serious non calls tonight. AND THEY STILL WON.
Better the giants than the pats. I cant stand the pats and their fans. I like the giants players, just cant stand their Douchebag fans
the last two years all of the jets fans calling up the radio and talking non stop about being a participant in two straight AFC championship games...are you really upset about Giants fans rightfully gloating? By the way, Justin Tuck openly mocked the jets today and the stadium during the rally erupted when they showed the video of the Giants season and Canty screamed "ball game, we run NY". Craig Cartoon corrected a jets fan today and said "we are irrelevant". This is the kind of karma you get when you start talking before it's deserved. It's going to be a great time at the preseason game, the Giants fans are going to make you all hang your collective head in shame when in public among us.
Its gonna be funny when you guys arent in the playoffs next year. And you realize (what most other fans of Cmen have realized already) that this season of yours was loaded was immense amounts of luck. Which is why I promise you next offseason is going to be the longest offseason of your lives, thats a guarantee any Jet fan can keep
Why should any Jets fan be ashamed? The Jets were credited by numerous Giants players as turning their season around. They should be thanking us they won the Super Bowl, big deal. If we win it, then it's a Jets town. That's how it works with the non diehards. What Karma are you talking also? I remember talking so much before the Pats game last year and they went into Foxboro and won. What they said before that game was much worse than anything said this year. I don't care if the Giants and their fans talk. I dislike when the media and their fans refer to them as classy and above talk. They clearly aren't, so the media shouldn't act like it. Lets not forgot Tom Coughlin said his team plays not talks, obviously not true. Kinda like how the media was on the Pats are class, Jets not craze last year. Nobody had a problem with Pats flying Jets during 45-3, we all had a problem with Deion Branch crying about the Jets doing it in Foxboro. The same guy that mocked the terrible towel and danced on the Chargers logo. You are allowed to trash talk as long as you don't complain when other teams do it. The Jets players have abided by that by taking any trash talk in stride. Really can't tell if your a Giants or Jets fan from the post, but either way its a pretty pathetic post. If you are a Jets fan why do you care what Giants fans say? It's a new season. If you are a Giants fan, well if my team won the Super Bowl I wouldn't be on a Giants/Pats/ opposing board posting. I would probably be at the parade and buying every commerative thing possible. Then praying for a Knicks championship in my lifetime if it hasn't yet.
Luck? Like the many injuries, bad calls going against them in both GB games. Bad calls against them in the game against the jets? Oh Rodgers wasn't on his game in the playoffs? Maybe because he was under pressure. Funny, if the packers won that game with the amount of bad calls against the Giants, no one would have said a word, the Giants overcame them and THEY were lucky because Rodgers didn't have an awesome game. Like I said, NOTHING to do with the Giants defense right? Giants led the league in dropped passes, were the other teams they played lucky? If so, then you are conceding the Giants should have won those games? Luck like a half injured Bradshaw? Like like no PI (an obvious one that forced the Giants to punt in the 4th quarter) or roughing the passer calls against the Patriots? That kind of luck? Or luck like playing two teams down the stretch who handed you games to get in the playoffs? 2009 anyone???? Whatever you have to tell yourself, keep believing the line that Carton is trying to drill into your heads. Look at the box scores and team stats of all of the Giants playoff games, they dominated. You don't outscore 4 solid opponents 102-56 in the playoffs by "luck".
Thats odd I thought you beat the 49ers due to their starting punt returner being out and having the backup fumble 2 punts which gave you the game tying and winning points. Thats odd I thought the refs won your game against Zona which put you in the playoffs to begin with. Thats odd you beat a "solid" opponent in Atlanta @ home even though pretty much nobody on their roster has ever won a playoff game. Thats odd you not only made the playoffs, but got to host a home playoff game with the worst record of any team in the playoffs PERIOD. Thats odd the best player on the Pats not named Tommy was crippled for the single most important game of the season. Thats odd guys who were top wrs/tes both dropped game winning td catches against you. Thats odd you beat the Jets due to a 99 yard td pass, and a mentally deranged OC deciding to call for more passing dropbacks that game than any game of any team that season. If you don't realize that your season was absolutely LITTERED with luck, then you're an absolute moron. And your joke of a fanbase were all calling for Coughlin to be fired both in the beginning of the season, and after the Redskins absolutely raped you near the end of it. You guys have just as many band-wagoners as heat fans,
If you don't think the Giants got any type of luck winning the SB then you're just delusional. Was it all luck? Absolutely not. Luck is simply when opportunity meets preparation. GIants took full advantage of the hand they were dealt and they should be congratulated for it. You have nothing to defend or apologize to (wtf are you even doing on a Jets message board btw). With that said, you dominated every game, except the 49er one. If the PR doesn't fumble twice you don't win that game. End of story. Likewise, if Welker knew how to hold onto a football, you don't win that one either. Both plays were the result of two teams beating themselves, and had nothing to do with the Giants. The SB isn't enough for you guys, you still need to come here and gloat. Just let your play to your talking. I bet you think Eli is now better than Peyton because 2 > 1?
1. The Giants forced one of those fumbles...forcing fumbles is luck? 2. What about the bad calls against them in the GB game during the regular season? That would have negated the zona game. Also, that Cruz play we legitimately thought he declared himself down and for all intents and purposes the play was over. If the call went the other way, you could say Arizona was lucky that he made a bone headed play 3. Atlanta was 10-6 with a great offense, who cares if they didn't have loads of playoff experience. The 2007 Giants team didn't have a lot of playoff wins under their belt. 4. The Giants won the division so obviously they get a home playoff game. And no, the Broncos were 8-8 with a home playoff game. Do you even watch football? PLUS, the Giants win on the road anyway. Moot point. 5. Gronk played and said he was fine. They have other weapons. Bradsaw was crippled for half of the season playing on a broken foot. Gronk was also dancing like an animal at a party after the game. 6. The Giants dropped quite a few passes in the playoffs too, your point? To be a team without luck their QB has to have a 100% completion percentage and all receivers have to catch EVERY ball? 7. The Giants beat the jets by 15 points. Eluding tackles is now luck? He had a first down anyway, who's to say they don't drive down the field and score? it was 7-3 in the second quarter...how do you think that one play "saved" them? He caught a pass and eluded tackles. The Giants are "lucky" now because of the calls of the other teams OC? Using your logic, all of football, especially that of which is played by the Giants, is luck. If the Giants do well (Cruz's TD) and elude tackles...it's luck. If the Giants dominate a team, then the other team didn't show up and it's luck. If the Giants win a close one, you can point to mistakes made by the other team and say it's luck while ignoring the mistakes made by the Giants. If making good plays and taking advantage of mistakes which happen in nearly every football game is luck...then how does a team win without luck? What about that fumble that was obviously a fumble in the Giants/Jets game that Ross returned that they overturned? The Jets got "lucky", they just didn't take advantage of it.
Shit forgot that one too. UDFA WR Cruz ends up being the best player on your team. And if youre seriously gonna pretend Gronk was fine or that Cruz "really" gave himself up vs Zona then its obvious you cant take your fanboy goggles off for even a moment
Every team makes mistakes so there is an opportunity for "luck" on both sides every game. When did I say that "no luck" found it's way to the Giants? Point is, other teams got big breaks too but didn't take advantage (namely GB). If they call the obvious PI on Manningham then maybe the Giants score instead of punting and the Welker drop isn't as big of a deal. Also, that pass wasn't a sure thing. Just like the Assante Samuel "almost INT" from the final 2 mins of SB 42 barely grazed one finger and he most likely would have landed out of bounds. But in common sports talk "if he holds on to that the Patriots win". You have to watch the plays again before you commit yourself to the sure thing effect that most people fall into. A good example is how wide spread the "if Cruz doesn't run for 99 yards, the Giants don't win that game and aren't in the playoffs". It was 7-3 in the 2nd quarter. If you believe that, then what about the week before when Nicks dropped a sure 80 yard TD pass that literally bounced off of his hands? That was in the 1st quarter and by the Cruz logic, could have changed the game and the Giants possibly win. Was that poor play or unlucky? It's almost like you guys are so mad that you resort to all of these flimsy "ifs".
So player development is now luck too? You are pathetic. Gronk said he was fine and played. My point was, Bradshaw has been at half capacity all season which probably has a big effect on their lack of running game. No one is crying about the Giants being unlucky. Not to mention key injuries on defense that they had all season. You obviously missed my point about Cruz. It was so close and subjective that either team getting that call is considered lucky and if zona gets it than the Giants are unlucky, right? The play, for all intents and purposes, was done and he was getting up and left the ball. It's not like the cardinals did anything of merit to warrant the ball anyway, so if he makes a bone headed play than the Giants are unlucky. Because I'm sure you think the bone headedness of Williams on the muff was unlucky for the niners because the Giants did not force the turnover. Correct?
also, using your collective "logic" if Matt Dodge punts the ball out of bounds then Jackson doesn't run it back and the Giants probably win and end up making the playoffs last year. Point is, he didn't punt the ball out of bounds and the Giants didn't make the playoffs. You only cry about luck when you want to explain why the team you wanted your team so badly to be better than, went on another great run and humiliated your favorite team and the whole organization.
please, you are only embarrassing yourself. we missed the playoffs THIS YEAR, I'd love to have a Super Bowl championship last year to comfort me. how the hell is that supposed to minimize the Giants? and, ooohhh, a long off season? it's a long offseason for the Jets wondering how good we will be, but we don't have a Super Bowl to comfort us. I'll gladly be the recipient of the Giants luck and Super Bowl. retard.
Giants outplayed the Seahawks but lost because of bad turnovers by good players. Was that luck by the Seahawks because when the Giants win games like that, they are lucky. So if the Seahawks were lucky, then the Giants should have won that game...does that negate wins that they were lucky in? How far can we stretch this luck theory to fit into the argument we want to present when we don't feel like being objective?
Yeah except your luck was refs winning games for you, or having key players on other teams being out propelling your wins. Guess lifes just easy when you play in one of the worst divisions in football and can make the playoffs and have homegames with a record barely over 500
Im not pretending for a second that our team wasn't complete dogshit. I only wear my fanboi goggles in moderation. But to pretend that the Cmen werent praying for breaks left and right (which they got) all season is an absolute joke. I dont think ive seen a team get as much luck as them since the Steelers took Palmer out on a dirty hit first play of the game, then went on to pay off the refs in the big game. Although id put this Cmen win just a notch below them since the Cmens luck was far more reoccurring
Like the Refs in the Jets and both GB games "helping" the Giants out? What about the key players the Giants had out for either the whole season or a significant portion? Thomas, Goff, Boley, Hixon, Bradshaw? I mean that's their best CB, key LB, best LB, starting returner and 65% share RB. The Giants were 5-0 against the AFC East and 9-1 against them since 2007. Giants are better than the Pats Eagles are better than the Jets Cowboys are better than the Bills Dolphins and Redskins are probably the same. home games or not, it doesn't matter. they had ONE home game in 6 not SB playoff games in their 2 SB runs. They would have won that game anywhere.
