will be dominant next year. They have cap space too. It's impressive how good they are year after year. They won the AFC and just barely missed winning it all with a flawed team.
They will be always be in contention with Bill and Brady. They have actually missed quite a lot on draft picks even though they have more 7 every year. The Pats were not dominant this year. The only dominant team was the Packer who were one and done. The Pats dug themselves a lot of 14,21 point holes near the end of the season and lost games against teams with winning records. They beat the Ravens as their only team with a winning record, and that required a dropped TD and missed FG. And the excuse I have heard is if the Pats didn't beat some teams, then they would have winning records. My counter to that is if the Pats didn't beat them, then they would have another loss to a team with a winning record.
Another thread by a Giants fan who recently joined TGG (after a Super Bowl victory, I might add) started for the sole purpose of stirring up shit
Will trade back for 2013 picks, take 2 mediocre non-impact players in the first two rounds of the 2012 draft and have 35 picks again next year as the twilight of Brady's career continues to approach. They will once again go as far as Gisele allows Brady to take them.
I posted before but it was a while ago and I don't use the email to retrieve the password. How is this stirring up shit? It's the rest of the NFL section and I posted facts. If the thought of that bothers you, well that's your problem.
Here's a fun fact that I will 100% guarentee and stand behind. The Cmen will not win a single playoff game next season. Now that is a FACT
Pats will always be a problem with Brady and Belifag but they've been drafting poorly in recent years.
Too bad bellishit is even worse at draft picks than tannenbaum. They could have 100 and get 1 or 2 starters.
lol the pats have beasts on their defense, good one. Maybe whoever they draft will be good as McCourtey and Ras-I
Thank you. It amazes me how the Pats still get so much credit for how they've drafted. Take away their two TE and the kicker, who have they come away with in recent years, with ALL these surplus picks. Look at their '06 to '08 drafts, you'd actually laugh.
McCourt was a 1st rounder, Ras-I was drafted at the beginning of the 2nd. Anyone the Pats touch (on defense) turns to shit.
i recently realized that the key to the patriots franchise has nothing to do with bellichicken or brady. its about the owner. he is a smart guy who has made correct decisions on a number of fronts. sadly i think they will continue to be a good team for some time. it has to do with how the entire organization is run more than the specific guys who are running it at any given time. the simple fact that they have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds means they dont have to hit on every one.
I feel like we do this every year. The, "oh no the Patriots are gonna draft all these studs." But it never happens so for now I'm not worried. They'll still win a lot of games, but Brady has gotta be fed up with these picks.
First off, Barron is hurt. Second, he is the top rated saftey in one of the weakest safety classes in awhile. The Pats can have em, hed make zero sense along side Chung.
i came to this conclusion while listening to one of the overnight guys on wfan a few weeks ago... he was talking about an article he had read or something along those lines and he talked about how kraft had to go to his wife to make sure it was ok to offer 120 mill for the patsies before he bought them. she said ok and he supposedly made the offer which was countered by the owner at the time with a 175 million dollar offer. he talked about how kraft knew he was overpaying by a TON of money for the franchise but he knew he could make something out of it especially with the other areas he owned around the stadium then it talks about how parcells wanted to be coach/gm and kraft basically told him that doing that would not happen as it went against the way he wanted his organization run. there should be a guy who coaches and a guy who gathers talent. parcells left. he went on to talk about how he knew and liked belichick but would not want him on as he felt that with the bad departure with bill that beli had closer ties to parcells than he did to him but knew that he would be interested in him in the future. which he did when they took him from the jets a few years later. something i didnt know was that kraft was very close with bledsoe and even though that was teh case he made the right business decision when he moved him to make room for brady as having both would have been bad news. he is the one thing that is constant and has constantly been successful in that organization. they were in teh superbowl a few years before belli came around. they played great the year that brady wasnt around. bellichick sucked prior to new england and brady was so bad that he could barely keep his job in college fighting with drew henson. there is an argument on both sides that one is useless without the other. so which one is it? i say neither one. kraft really did a great job turning that shame of an organization that used to play in a glorified high school stadium in front of 10k fans at times into the scumbag patriots we all hate today.
