Dwight Lowery re-signs with Jags according to Manish Former Jets DB Dwight Lowery is going to remain a former Jet. Lowery re-signed with the Jaguars, per @taniaganguli (Jags beat writer). Four-year deal. #nyj
That's alright, we'll sign Landry and he'll put Tom Brady's helmet in a headlock and squeeze his eyeballs out of his earholes. Flawless victory.
Tanny needs to get his head out of his ass and get moving before tis too late.... The pool is drying up and fast, we need to get O Line help, safety and maybe a TE asap....
Why the hell was Lowery traded last year? Ducasse, the illogical Hunter signing, trading Lowery, it's all adding up. I used to be a Mike T fan, but he's f'ing up left and right now.
The Lowery trade never made any sense to me. He wasn't expensive, we didn't have great safety depth. What did we get for him, a 7th rounder? Please
what did the jets get for the laundry trade? laundry sucked fucking ass. i think you guys are being revisionist here.
I don't want anything to do with Lowery. He made a big play here and there but the rest of the time he was getting beat like everyone else.
As a corner? Yeah, he was nothing special. It's not revisionist when there was a huge contingent of people that realized a corner with size, ball skills, and a history excelling in zone coverage might be a better fit at the safety position. Many of us were begging to see him there, but he was never really given a fair shot.
Yeah, that was kind of implied. Lowery was at times very good for the Jaguars last season, and used the skills he's always had to succeed. He's no pro bowl player, but he'd be the best safety on the Jets roster right now if he were still here. The Jags understand what they had, what was available, and clearly made the decision that he was a far better option than the others on the table, not the best sign for the Jets getting a stud this offseason.
Maybe so, but we still need a cover safety. Eric Smith can be Landry's backup, and then we need that other dude. Barron could be one day if we trade up in the 2nd for him. I'd still say sign one more to be safe. Pressure is definitely on.
Lowery wanted to get traded. He wanted to play somewhere where he could start. Kind of like Cotch. The Jets were nice and said ok we'll see what we can do since they were determined to start Smith and Leonard
OMG. Almost an entire day of free agency gone and all we have done is sign Pouha and Thomas. No Williams. No Manning. No Winston. Fire Tanny. Fire Rex. We are doomed. I mean, look at all the signings the other teams in the AFC East have made! Oh . Wait. Never mind.
Nobody really gave a damn when Lowery got traded and the general consensus was that he sucked. Clearly it was a bad decision to let him go but I think there is a lot of Captain Hindsight going on here.
