Is this the same punter that has gone out on the football field with multiple football teams and decided on his own (in questionable at best situations) to run a fake punt? Yeah pretty sure that is him. How old is he and he still making dumb decisions? Oh wait he won a super bowl last year though as a punter so forget it. Clown

Looks like nobody in the entire NFL is allowed to criticize Mark Sanchez in any way. We don't know if Weatherford was just ranting or simply had that question forced onto him by a reporter, so there's no need to flip out over his comments.

Even though he can be an idiot (as evidenced by his 4th and 18 fake punts), his comments here do make sense. If we put up a poll, I'm sure that there will be quite a few posters here that would vote up his comment.

I think he was spot on.

Maturity, however, was not SWs field of expertise, but do not understand why so many on this board seems to like Sanchez beyond the Jets.
Difficult to grasp considering they have carried him for 3 seasons, waiting for the switch to go on.

The NY media expects a perfect storm of shit from the Jets this coming season. This story is just more evidence that the vultures are testing their flight patterns.

    Heh.

Having a fresh superbowl ring in like holding the conch in Lord of The Flies. Weatherford has the Conch and is allowed to talk. Now someone should take a rock a bash him on the head.

Yeah, the Sanchez Fans here are starting to lose it. Could get real ugly around here and in the Jet fanbase.

We should hire Steve Weatherford as our QB Coach.

Hey, it's not like anyone else has questioned Mark's leadership or anything. This is just a punter who won a Superbowl, what does he know anyway? Its not like a quarterback coach was questioning Mark's decision-making too ... Then there'd be cause for concern.

The thing I had a problem with is that the story on NFL.com said something like "Sanchez showed promise as a rookie but hasn't developed much since"

I think these reporters should have to know what the hell they are talking about because his 10 season was much better than his rookie year.

Weatherford is dead wrong. How can he say that Sanchez hasn't matured at all since his rookie year?? What a crock. He's improved every year here, and showed his leadership with the Jets west camp last off season and continues to work very hard. Weatherford's a kicker. He doesn't even take the field with Sanchez.

I only posted this because I think it is ridiculous that a punter thinks he understands the development of a quarterback when he probably spent very, very little time with Sanchez so he really just wants to create controversy.

Weatherford has openly criticized the Jets since he left, especially after winning the Superbowl, and although he has the right to, it is getting pretty annoying.

NFL.com articles are getting worse and worse though, so some of the blame has to go to the author of this article.

I used t like Steve but now I can't him, maybe if he punted better w/ us we'd have a SB. Mark wasn't the weak link, his awful punting under pressure was.

His points are valid. I have no problem with it.

Though I do wonder why it's always him having something to say.

well i will say this - i am not fond of the "californian" personality in my QB. i saw it with ken obrien and i see it with sanchez.

i need to see a bit more fire and urgency from sanchez and not necessarily when things are going bad. strive for perfection like marino and manning.

this may come with on going maturity cause we are in fact dealing with a 25? year old.

It doesn't make any sense. He was so bad with us during the playoffs and so good with the Giants during the playoffs...

That was very frustrating to watch, he did have one good moment for us- the punt inside the SD 10 that set up the Leonhard INT in the '09 div rd but for the most part he was horrible and that's why we let him go and typical giants luck he performs great for them.

You're a clown. Have you ever been in the locker room? Have you ever talked to Sanchez, the players around him, his coaches? Have you ever spent time with him?

What's that, "no" to all those questions? But apparently you know him well enough to question an aspect of his personality. Ya gotta love fans.
