http://www.JetsTV.com I am just getting out of class but I got a call and I am trying to get the right # down (22 or 29) but Jetstv is now reporting that John Abraham is being dealt to Denver. Video to come! ***Additional Details: I am being told it will most likely be for the 29th pick, and that the deal could come as late as tomorrow!
I scoured the internet and I can't find any leaks anywhere about it. I can't see us moving Abe right now, not with all of the releasing going on right now. Who is going to want to pay him over $8M next year when they are dropping otherwise good players who made less?
If the Browns were interested, or houston, or the Raiders, or any team like that, then Denver would have to come up with more than one of their lowly picks. It's not out of the realm of possibility.
Definitely not both their firsts. If so, they wouldn't have to deal with us... They could just sign him. I bet #1 and #3 or something like that.
I hope its their 22nd pick, because if it is, we have a legitimate shot at taking Vernon Davis, if he gets by the Raiders at 7(who are notorious for going for the speedy players), because everyone after that pretty much has either a Premier Tight End or they're drafting defensive players.
Cincinnati is 9 mill. under the cap. Along with being a defensive-minded coach, I think Marvin Lewis really likes Abe. Futhermore, Abe is better than any end they currently have; Abe and Justin Smith makes a nice tandem. A trade with them doesn't seem too farfetched (provided they have cap room). However, are they willing to part with their 1st pick? Probably not. Because Denver has 2 picks, and they cut Pryce, I still see them as the team getting Abe. cheers
That's more than I thought we'd get for him. We can rebuild a bit quicker now I think. Maybe trade Mawae for another 2nd rounder...or hell, maybe Denver will give us their other 1st rounder for him.
The Jets have to get a first round pick, if they don't Tan-Gini are getting lowballed and screwed. Let's hope they get it right.
2nd Rounder is pushing it for Mawae, unless it's a late 2nd Rounder. Early 3rd seems more plausible. I think it depends on who thinks they're contending; that is, a team who needs Mawae for 2 years (b/c that's probably all he has left) and thinks they'll make a run could definitely trade for him. But i have a question: is there any type of hit for trading Mawae or will it just free up space the same way it will if we cut him? cheers
Mawae for a 2nd rounder? I just choked on my lunch as I laughed at that....A 4th maybe, if anyone gives us a 2nd round pick for an aging center coming off a season ending injury, as his 2nd major injury in 2 years, I will whistle dixie out of my a..hole.
JetsTV is a TGG poster who makes short video documentaries and puts them into a website (jetstv.com) and you can go and see him talk about the jets in short (couple of minutes) clips.
