4 receptions for 45 yards with an outstanding TD reception, a 21 yard reception, and oh yea a punt return for a TD. So much for being in Rex's "dog house".
He played very well, but if he keeps playing like that and they don't throw to holmes we will have ANOTHER shit storm brewing . . . .
Holmes had same catches and more yards just no TD. Should have had a TD but he put his hand down a hair of a second faster than his second foot hit. Almost a highlight reel TD. Still I think Holmes will have a good year he looked good yesterday as did Mark. We are not the strict ground and pound team people thought we will be throwing the ball. Kerley and Hill having great games will only help Holmes get more room to get open in the future. Also Keller being on the field will help.
I thought Kerley showed great promise last season and I was excited to see him play this year. Not sure why he doesn't get more credit but if people choose not to notice him so be it - as long as he keeps making plays. That TD catch yesterday was awesome - from where I was sitting in the stands it looked like it was going to be a sure INT - I couldn't believe he came down with it. This kid is good.
I thought Kerley last year was the best development on the O, perhaps the whole team, but lots of what came out of camp this off season led me to question that. Especially Ryan knocking him, then he got hurt. Ryan said he basically felt Kerley did not come to camp prepared enough. Well, I certainly noticed that he played great yesterday. Welcome to the regular season, I guess.
Lotsa love for Kerley. (Does that make Holmes "Moe" and Hill "Larry"?) I saw flashes out of him last season, and was anxious to see his this year. He sure didn't disappoint either. The kid can play.
kerley sure did look good...i hope (obviously) he keeps it up. kerley did a nice job returning punts, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Cylde Gates step into that role eventually.
One of the benefits to sitting up with the planes is a better view of the trajectory of the ball. I don't know where you were sitting, but from the upper deck on the 30 yard line, you could tell that the moment Sanchez released that ball it was the height of perfection in a pass.
Kerley looked really good. If he keeps playing well and Hill doesn't get the rookie oopsies the Jets WR corps will be fine. Holmes played well yesterday and the offense performed well and Holmes only had 4 catches and no scores, that tells you that Sanchez and the other receivers had a hell of a day.
Kerley played like a stud. Need this kind of effort out of him every week. Explosive, game changer, champion.
Great game by Kerley! I was very sceptic on having him in the slot... Let see how he pans out the rest of the season
I just heard something that hadn't occurred to me. Kerley's PR touchdown was the first punt returned for a TD since Santana Moss did it in 2002. Is that for real? I can't remember anyone doing it in a while, but damn. 2002?
Yeah, that's what I heard...amazing with all the KR's we've had that we haven't had a punt returned in a decade. I was a strapping young lad back then. Now I'm in my mid 30's, fat, balding and ugly. I also thought he got that 1st down on the play we challenged right before the half. I guess maybe they couldn't find a good angle on replay to prove it but it looked good.
Really like Kerley. I called out the PR touchdown by him to my buddy while it was in the air, just had a feeling. He doesn't always get a lot of catches but he seems to be pretty clutch making the plays needed on 3rd down or in the endzone this week. Very encouraged by what I saw yesterday since I was definitely looking forward to how he does this year.
