Revis is out, Holmes is out. We are going to roll with what we got. The funny thing is this...about 80% of us wanted Holmes gone anyway....it's done. Get the young guys in..little more speed..hungry young players. \let's see what we got. We might get surprised. I will be watching the game up here in Canada on our thanksgiving weekend cheering on the jets with a turkey leg in one hand and a high alcohol beer in the other. Enough whining and doom and gloom. Time to cut the weak and vulnerable from the herd and clean this mess up. It will certainly be interesting. There is no curse...there is no conspiracy.....just fate and the football gods. Monday can't come soon enough. I think we shut some mouths and walk off the field proud of the effort.
Losing Holmes with nothing in return is different than losing him with getting back a player\draft picks...........................this team sucks and there's nothing they can do it about it. The shit drafts have caught up and this team just plain sucks. No depth, no pro bowlers, no gems in recent drafts. That's a real formula for success!
Someone post Sanchez's recieving corp the first 3 weeks of 2009. Yeah the same first 3 weeks where we started 3-0 and pulled of 3 straight wins where we werent exactly favored.(Maybe against the Titans, but they were the #1 seed the year before). We need a run game, thats where the main issue lies. Sanchez's recievers way back when were Stuckey, Clowney, and Cotchery. Keller was obviously their to.
It would be nice if he were cut in the off-season. Can't we save 8 mil if he's cut this upcoming off-season?
at the end of the day when we look back on this season, this may be a painful blessing in disguise. potentially what's needed to spur the right kind of change and get this franchise back on track. i want nothing more than for this team to rebound and get it going. but if that doesn't happen I'll take a top 5 pick. the absolute worst thing that can happen is for this team to sputter along at average and have a middle of the pack pick. either get it together and make the playoffs or shit the bed.
wow I always thought canadiens were smarter and more evolved than the ;loudmouths we have here south of that border...not you then again, many of you live on the frontier with no teeth so....
believe it or not i also have a sneaking suspicion this team will come out firing on monday somehow... even if we lose, i want to see a solid hard effort, not that bullshit we saw against SF.
Yes, with my one tooth.....I will gum the chicken wings on monday in my Igloo. It's a nice Igloo though....you know...with the Canadian greenback crushing the american dollar........anyhooo...anything relevant to add or are you still working on that foreclosure.....
I never wanted Holmes gone, he was our best weapon, and helped us win a lot of big games, it might be a bigger blow losing Holmes for the season than Revis.
the Steelers only got a 5th for him when he was still had the Super Bowl shine. how the hell were the Jets ever going to get back a player or pick worth anything to make that worth celebrating? losing Holmes this way is no different than the player or pick we would have gotten for him which likely wouldn't have made the team anyways.
I know I ripped you in another thread, but.... I agree. I was going to post something like this. Let's stop whining about next year. It's week 5, and we're in first place. Does it look bad? Yes. Do I think we're going to make the playoffs? No. But let's support this team. I've seen many Jets teams in my lifetime look terrible early in the season, most ended up bad. But I've also seen a few that got a spark partway through the season and somehow made the playoffs. Any chance the Jets had of making the Super Bowl is basically out the window, and the playoffs are a longshot, but hopefully the Jets can win some games and make us not embarrassed to be Jets fans. There are enough winnable games where 9-7 can happen if they can get the ship together. I don't think there's enough talent to get it done. But the 2006 Jets were awful on paper, and they won 10 games and made it mildly interesting.
I wouldn't say making the playoffs is unlikely. I think if we turn this thing around, which I feel we will, we have a great shot at it. Our division has gotten weaker and frankly, the Pats haven't looked too good before last game. The Bills, we all know, plummit after the first half of the season, and the Dolphins, I feel, we can beat at home. We have a good shot at this I think. We all know, all we have to do is get our foot in the door for the playoffs. When we do, we seem to perform beyond belief. I feel we are a very scary team in the playoffs. We just gotta fight tooth and nail to get there
We don't have a very good shot. Our offense and our defense were based around 2 guys who are out for the season, and the rest of the team is not impressive at all. But you never know. Maybe the defensive line steps up, maybe Davis and Coples will play more and add more speed, maybe Berry can help, who knows. We're still 2-2 and 2-0 in the division. If 9-7 gets you in the playoffs, we've done a good job so far giving ourselves a chance with tiebreakers. Standings-wise, we are right there. We still have games against teams like Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Miami, Buffalo, Tennessee and St. Louis. None of those teams scare me that much. Plus, Arizona, San Diego and Seattle aren't great on one side of the ball. New England 2x and Houston will be very tough. I'm expecting a 6-10 or 7-9 type year at this point, but you never know.
