http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...ts-says-pittsburgh-steelers-get-benefit-calls Giants still don't know what "murder" means it seems. For a team that's supposed to be "classy" and "above the fray" they really let things bother them
Maybe NY writers have stopped, but Jets vs Giants is a constant comparision even before the Rex days and the Giants were always the "class" of NY and the "classy" one while the Jets were "scrappy" and etc. Above the fray was pushing it on my part. There's a difference between talking and complaining and whining. I have no problem with the Giants going on saying they are the best team in the NFC ,NFL, the world. That they should be favored to be repeat. That they have the best team in the league, in NY, in the world etc. But why are they complaining so much for being defending champions? Just go brag about how good your are, go out and beat the teams, and then brag about it more. No need to complain about the refs or other teams
Well if their talent is validated and they have nothing left to prove maybe their complaints are sincere? It's quite possible the Steelers hold a fuckton as Rapistberger scrambles around for 20 seconds extending the play.
Complaints are always sincere. Nobody is lying about what they are complaining about. But why all the complaining? I feel like they have something new to complain about every week. I just don't get it from them. I always felt you usually see the better teams in the league stay away from all this complaining. It's usually teams like us or middling teams that do it.
Fair enough but Justin Tuck is really the only Giant I've heard do any yapping. Brandon Jacobs' opinions don't count.
Historically the Giants are considered the "class of NY" because they are typically the more successful franchise. The idea of the Giants only taking high character players is kind of a myth (LT, anyone?). I think the Gilbride comment was blown out of proportion by Harbaugh being a crybaby. I'm not thrilled with Tuck saying this, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that the Steelers get more than their share of calls. I think it's moreso their defense that gets the benefit of calls; since they are known as a "physical team" they get away with some late hits on D.
Name one besides this (which I don't like Tuck saying) & Gilbride's one comment about Justin Smith (which, by the way, was the only negative sentiment in an otherwise lovefest of a comment about a talented player).

I'm more used to the Giants going out there and doing their business. It seems like they are doing a lot of talking and not the good kind. I read headlines quickly and think "Why are the Jets saying this" and then it hits me it's the Giants. Like I said, go out there and talk how amazing you are, completely 100% deserve this. I just feel like the team performs better with the "us against the world mentality" and I don't know if they do this to keep on believe in this or what, but it's strange. I might have missed the chatter the past couple years and it's always been there. A lot of teams complain, but it's usually teams like us or middling teams.
I'd have to agree with him. Aside from all the fining which stems mostly from Harrison, I think the league loves the Steelers.
Steelers may get calls from the refs, but the giants get calls from god. Nothing can go wrong for them.
