He is listed as T/G on our roster, which would make him our only backup guard. Kinda scary if you ask me. Thoughts?
Trey Teague plays all line positions. Mangold can play guard. Katnik can play guard. Ryan is a tight end.
Yeah its got to be a mistake. He's going to be the third Tight End behind Chris Baker and Zack Hilton.
Why does everyone assume it is a mistake? The dude has like 2 career catches. Not all people listed as a TE actually play TE (**cough** Dearth **cough**). Also I am 100% certain that none of you have watched him play any meaningful snaps so I think you better hold your opinions on him being our third TE. Finally, players can change positions once they get into the pros, Moore came out of college as a Defensive Tackle I believe and now he is our starting guard. Buffalo's starting tackle came out of college as a Tight End and made the transition so I don't see why everyone thinks this is impossible. Jetsin2004, I respect you as a poster, but sometimes I think your big head gets in the way of your mouth. You may be "2005 TGG.com Award Winner Most Knowledgeable Poster" but you don't know everything. I will not simply accept your opinion that Mangold can play guard and Ryan is our Tight End. Do you have any evidence to back up your statements? As far as Trey Teague goes, he is injured so he doesn't provide much of a solace. Katnik might be able to play some guard in a pinch but I get the feeling he was kept on the team as long as Teague isn't playing and once he is and we have 2 centers, his use will be over.
shyea...im pretty sure...rambo is saying we are gonna keep 2 TE's and use ryan as an Olinemen quick question...anyone find him in madden?? is he even in madden?
Oline Interesting thoughts, and yes I think Teague is available again. If so then thats pretty good.We can get rid of Katnik(waste of roster space) get another olineman.Did anyone ever sign Rob Petiti? I am more concerned with our RT position than anything.
Half of our players arn't in madden, not really a shock is it. If they can't even include the players we drafted this year whats the chance a FA we pick up is?
Y'all can eat it. "James Dearth and Sean Ryan are nothing more than undersized linemen." http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/ny-spfbjscout064878959sep06,0,4040410.story?track=rss
Mangold worked out at guard during minicamps until Teague went down. That was the initial plan for the first season, and has been widely reported. Now onto your accusations.. Do you even know who I am? I know I haven't a clue who you are.
Teague is on the 53, but reports say he may not be ready to play for the first couple weeks. They did not put him on PUP because then he's out a minimum of 6.
Mangini quotes from another thread... On C Trey Teague? Trey Teague, he's a nice guy. You'll really like him as you get to know him. I really like him. We'll let you know on Wednesday his exact status. Trey has made a lot of progress since the initial injury. We will have to wait until Wednesday to give anything. On what Teague brings to the team?Trey brings the same versatility. He's played center. He's played tackle. He's really good with the young guys, just like Pete's really good with the young guys. He's seeing a lot of fronts, he's seeing a lot of blitz looks. He's very willing to help guys out and he's been good with Nick and Brick. I like all of the different things he brings. On Teague playing at guard? I think we might work him a little bit at guard, as you say with Adrian, that was part of the process there; work him at right, work him at left, work him at guard. It's just that you get in these game, you could lose two guards. It's one of those, you just never know how it's going to go, so at least give him some exposure to that. If you did have to get through a game, it's always good especially with a veteran guy to be able to plug him in there. And, you know, it may not be perfect, but you've got a real shot, and he can lean on his experience.
Now back to shove it up .... well nevermind: http://fantasyfootball.usatoday.com/content/player.asp?sport=NFL&id=3647 http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/draft/prospect?contentId=5526620
Oh yeah, one more thing. Look at the roster. He's wearing #88 and wore 88 in the last preseason game. Linemen can not wear #88. Further proof he's a tight end. He may be a blocking TE, and never see the ball, but he's a TE. More proof: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6903/ http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show/505
