    wilkerson is a beast huh

    love this kid

him and coples are gonna anchor the line for a long time, they are high school friends too, so there is every incentive in the world to take team friendly contracts so they can stay together. add in richardson and its easy to see why rex is so well respected. he has quietly built a very solid d-line, that has the potential to be one of the best in the league. this defense is going to be VERY good next season. i probably sound like a huge homer but i really think that the cards are lined up for the jets to shock the world so-to-speak this season. everyones counting the team out when in reality they have only gotten stronger.

I think ultimately the success of the team will depend on how the OL and QB play. If we get middle of the road success out of them the team could battle for a playoff spot based on how good the defense should be. QB will be a huge wildcard because we really don't know if Sanchez will play better with an improved OL, if Garrard can even play anymore and if Geno is ready to play in the NFL.

This deserves a bump. I have always been a huge Wilkerson fan, and I loved that we (yet again) strengthened the defensive line in the first round. We do have many needs - but I agree with Idzik's mantra that draft order is predicated by talent available. And by selecting what Rex and co. perceive to be the best DT available, The front seven of Coples, Wilkerson, Ellis, Richardson, Pace, Davis and Harris has the potential to be outstanding. Wilkerson was dominant last year, and it's easy to get excited about Coples, as his development seems to have mirrored Wilkerson's rookie progression. I'm thrilled we have all this talent on the line, and I love the commitment to building a truly elite, home-grown defensive front.

  4. Jets are really sturdy up front on both sides of the ball. If tge offense can avoid turnovers & make a few big plays we may have a chance this year.

Lines are only gonna get better moving forward due to the young players involved. With a ton of cap space & draft picks next offseason the future looks really bright
