he is using basic math. 4 out of 5 = 80%. the source said basically its the entire team.

    90%

I don't buy it. No chance that 10% of the players still want Sanchez on the team after what he has done to this team the last 4 years.

Think about it. 50% of the team is defense and a 100% of the defense certainly hates Sanchez as he leaves them on the field all day, destroys their stats, leaves them in bad field position and forces them to play an almost perfect game every week for the Jets to have a chance of winning.

    Lets look at offense.

All the WRs and TEs hate him as their stats suffer greatly because of him and he throws so many bad and late passes he greatly increases their chance of injury. The OL hate him as he messes up their stats taking many unnecessary sacks due to due to his poor pocket awareness, panic attacks under pressure, running around with his eyes closed when under pressure, and giving up on plays and because he is afraid to take a hit. The RBs hate him as he makes their job much harder as defenses just key against the rush as they know Sanchez can't beat them.

The special teams hate him as he constantly leaves the Jets in bad field position.

Who does that leave left on the team that may even remotely like Sanchez? The punter. He loves Sanchez. Oh and don't forget the two other QBs as he gives them hope and makes them look good in comparison.

3 people on a team of 53 does not equal 10%. But hey, maybe I missed two people.

    Youre an asshole.

    All the WRs? Really?

Holmes came out and supported him. Maybe you missed that.

As did Mangold. And Schillens. Instead of making shit up, how about trying to discuss the news rationally?

    Sacked?

Sanchez wasnt top ten in sacks, finishing behind such shitty QBs as Rodgers, and Flacco.
    http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/sacks

Oh right..its all on Sanchez, yet the jets jettisoned both guards.

Just by a Brady jersey and get it over with.

lol at this part. McElroy took more sacks in one game than Sanchez did most months. If they hate Sanchez they must have wanted to lock McElroy out of the facility after the San Diego game. Maybe they should have tried blocking better for the backup if they wanted Sanchez out so bad.

I... gotta go with Hobbes on this one.

I'm sure a lot of his teammates want better play and are ready to move on if he doesn't improve but.. um yeah there are players on record showing support for him.

We have to lessen the hyperbole in regard to Sanchez, we know he struggles a lot and that if he doesn't put up now he's good as gone, but we can't keep listening to the most caricaturist interpretations of the guy.

Saying everybody on the team hates him except the punter and other QBs is on even keel with saying all we need to know about him is the buttfumble. Its immature, lacks objectivity, and is just hateful with out intelligent critique.

Theres a lot not to like about the guy (I for one won't be sad if he's gone after this year) but we can do better than write and listen about his caricature.

Did you count Sancho's fumbles? As far as I know, you can't call it a sack if he fumbles the ball away.

Maybe they hate both of them.
I can't recall Tebow getting sacked much.

    Shit...I'm bored. Where's Junc?

As a Jets fan, why do you care about this sort of article? The team is in transition. Smith is the QB of the future. The only question is when that future is, not if. If Sanchez starts the season as the starter, who cares? Let Smith start his NFL career on the right foot, not with the glare of training camp cameras and everyday stat comparisons and analysis from ESPN. Put him no earlier than week 10 after the buy when the season is lost and the pressure is off and the Jets morph into a boring 3-7 team and the stories of the season involve other teams. Let Sanchez take the lumps early in the season.

The problem with the Sanchez starts scenario is that the Jets do need to sell tickets next year. By game 6 or so you're going to have empty seats all over the place if the Jets are losing and Sanchez is the QB. The people who are there will not be happy customers.

Woody has one thing absolutely right about the Jets. They're in the entertainment business and the product they put on the field last year was one of the least entertaining shows around.

If Geno Smith was a high 1st round pick who looked like he had all the goods and was going to be the franchise guy for years then you're absolutely right that you protect him from the chaos early on. If the Jets had a huge investment in him you're right.

Geno's not all that. Geno is the next step in finding the Jets QB and the Jets don't have time to waste in that process. Throw him on the field. See if he shows some skills and smarts. Make up your mind about him next year one way or the other.

Then in 2014 the Jets know if they are looking for a QB in that thick draft.

One of the worst things the Jets could do is have Geno barely see the field this year and then go into the draft next year not knowing if they should take a shot up high on whoever falls to them on the 9 or whatever.

So Geno, the kid who threw a fit for not going in the first round... I don't know about you, but I looked up how some of the other rookie qbs are doing... Shit manuel is dropping 80yd TDs to UDFAs... Somebody should have done a little more homework

Practice warriors always get it done on the field.

I see what you are doing here trying to deflect criticism of Sackchez by criticizing McElroy. But its not an apples to apples criticism as the situation is far from equal. This was McElroys 2nd game in the NFL. He had gotten snaps in practice 2 weeks the entire year. He did not even know the plays. He was also likely playing with a concussion the entire game since he took that hit in the first few minutes at the goal line. Most of those sacks were on McElroy but unlike Sanchez he did not give up or shy away from taking hits. The line also played horrible and appeared to give up in the first meaningless game since 2007.

Now Sanchez has played in 67 NFL games. He takes sacks at double the rate of other NFL QB when under pressure. He was one the least hit and least pressured QBs in the NFL but takes sacks at an alarming rate. He gives up on plays, panics under pressure, is afraid to take hits, is soft, and runs with his head down blindly until he hits something or something hits him.

Yes you can say McElroy played like a rookie in his first start playing the game with a concussion without knowing the plays. But Sanchez plays like that every game without the benefit of a concussion. So in a long answer yes Sanchez makes the line look bad. In 2011 and 2012 the line graded out very good. Giving up the 5th least hits in 2011, and 12th least Qb pressures, being the 4th ranked OL in football in 2012 while having the 10th best rushing game all without a NFL caliber QB. But Sanchez's failures made the line take a lot of undeserved criticism. So yes it would be very good speculation to believe that OL would all benefit and be happy with the Jets playing a NFL caliber QB at the position.

Threw a fit, eh? When exactly did he throw a fit? And when did OTA work ever matter in the early development of a rookie quarterback?

And when the fuck did the Bills start to matter?

Shouldn't you be shoveling snow or saluting a Canadian flag or something?

Here we go again with the anonymous sources smear campaign. Until someone is man enough to put a name behind their comments, I won't believe a word of it. Hopefully the Jets will do the same.

You have become to Geno what Junc/Hobbes are to Sanchez, and BackupQB was to Tebow.
