I called up about the lack of games in HD and the girl said to me that the contract CBS has with the NFL says that they have to broadcast at least 3 games a week in HD. She said that by 2009 all the games must be broadcasted in HD. She said hopefully by next year they could have all the games shown in High Def.
Nothing new that what someone already told us. Someone posted and said that only 3-4 CBS games would be broadcasted in HD...
People are so quick to slam posts down, this is a decent clarification of how shitty CBS is. Directv wasn't holding them back, nor was the NFL.. in fact the NFL forced them to do what little they are in terms of HD broadcasts.
So CBS's goal is to give their customers as little as possible so long as it doesn't violate their contract with the NFL. Great way to do business, CBS.
Please provide the number so we can all call and complain about it! Maybe then they'll get off their ass and get us more than 3 lousy games in HD a week we'll post on every AFC team board we can find also when you call tell them to get 720p and not 1080i so the quality is even better!
I dont care about HD until we get cheerleaders. I want to see which ones shave down there and which ones dont.
HD Games http://directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIF.jsp?assetId=1100029 Good way to know what games are HD...Directv lists them every week. Even if you don't have Directv, you will know if the game will be broadcast HD. FYI, this week is.
Thanks for posting the information. I have yet to move past Sony 1993 technology but channel 2 stinks for picture quality. A few weeks ago after one of the Jets preseason games, I emailed CBS and told them the quality is bad compared to other stations. No reply, but at least I felt better by venting. I like the "posting the phone number" idea.
Geez, that makes my call seem so insignificant. I actually called CBS to complain about last season of "Two and a Half Men," and to see about about full frontal nudity after 10:00 pm on weekends.
did you bitch at them about advertising the Jets game down here on the program guide and then showing the Bills-Pats game when it came down to game time, with the Jets game still being advertised on the program guide? HMMMM???
I got the phone number off of the CBS website. http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/info_faq_contact_us.shtml the phone number is (212) 975-4321. Ask to speak with someone in the CBS Sports Division
Uh I would hope so. The FCC changed the digital cable conversion from 06 to 09. If every broadcast by then is digitized (not to mention the fact it's 3 years from now), I would assume Viacom would be broadcasting all their NFL games in HD.
