Bingo. They are letting the media speculate so they end up looking stupid. Nothing makes me happier.

Revis is the best defensive player in the NFL. Holmes is an upjumped slot receiver. The OP for this thread is sketchy at best, but it stands to reason that an egotist like Holmes might want to extend his tender period to avoid being made to look like a turd against another guy who suffered a season ending injury, yet is leagues better than him.

Apologies for interrupting yet another self-serving lecture from you. Apparently that is all you have to offer this forum anymore.

Oh, I'm sorry, I meant to say "this ignorant and impatient forum." Please forgive me.

It stands to reason? And what reason is this? Holmes ain't ducking Revis. The idea that he'd pretend to be hurt to avoid a certain CB is preposterous. How does missing the game against Revis extend his tender period? They both had season ending injuries. Holmes is highly under rated, and was under utilized under Schotty. The whole "cancer" mantra is really getting old. People act like he's the worst guy ever, without any evidence whatsoever to justify their position. Holmes gives us a better chance to win in ANY game. Nobody's going to say Holmes sucks if he gets shut down by Revis. Calvin Johnson was shut down by him twice. Not one aspect of that argument is even remotely grounded in reality, it's just become gospel to all these Holmes haters, so they recite the scripture anytime he's brought up. People turn into boiling tea kettles every time his name comes up. It's comical watching the emotions control people.

To be honest, I'd rather Hill take on Revis. Test that leg out. Hill is also much stronger and more physical than Holmes.

I don't think it really matters who we'd be playing Week 1 or 2, Holmes isn't scared. He's just jaking it now that he got his money, and is only going to play enough this year to value himself up for his next contract after we cut his ass this offseason.

Agree 100%. I can't think of anyone that would say a word if Holmes gets shut out by Revis, its not like Revis hasn't done it to every receiver in the league.

I agree with another poster, I would like for Revis to take on Hill. Have Hill run a lot of streaks, test Revis' knee and speed. Hill is faster than Revis, so he hill probably need safety help, especially as unproven as Revis' knee is.

The only person Revis scares is the GM who has to put up with his BS.

Holmes will burn revis and cause him to reinsure his knee.

Jets fans will see the wisdom in trading away revis last off season.

Holmes has nothing to lose - Revis does.

It Holmes gets shut down no big story. If Revis gets burned he will be flamed.

Either way we have to put up with cry baby Holmes all season. Hopefully he will make some plays and earn his money but who knows?

In actuality, there's no guarantee that Revis will be covering Holmes. He might be jamming the less experienced Hill at the line...

No one (and I mean NO ONE) has seen Revis in a game since his injury. But based on what I've heard (and have seen in practice), I'm willing to bet that he is ready.

Is Hill ready for Revis??? Is Kerley ready??? Is Holmes ready??? What about Spadola???

Which of these receivers would have success on Revis were he to cover them?

Will Geno even throw to a slightly Revis-covered receiver???

Holmes has alot of talent but we now see why the steelers traded a Superbowl Mvp Wr for a 5 th round pick ,He isn't worth the trouble and hopefully we can trade him next offseason and sign some new top recivers. The Doctors cleared Holmes to play and he's pulling this bullshit we should try and trade him before the deadline

Other that unreasonable fanboyism, you never really have a point about Holmes. Compound that with your posts about Sanchez, and I'm beginning to wonder why I don't skip one your laughable posts completely.

Disagree. When wearing a Jets uniform, there is always something to lose.

Further, now that Revis is out of a Jets uniform, he'll get a fan base that appreciates what he does and is capable of forgiving the occasional escape from Revis Island. He will finally be appreciated for the force that he really is.

My point about Holmes, was that your points about Holmes were speculative slander and nothing more. You responding with an irrelevant insult proved exactly what I saying. Don't be the boiling tea kettle. Nobody wants to be THAT guy.

    You are RIGHT!!!

And this is coming from a fan-base who can't wait for Ronde Barber to get inducted into the Hall of Fame...

Never would have have imagined that a corner would make me forget about Barber...
