Remember the Cardinals game last season? I'm expecting 16 of those. If the opposing team scores more than 10 then we're fucked. Anything better than that is a bonus. /Darksiderout
That has to be the worst expectation I've seen in awhile. Can't get much worse than the Cardinals game. Marty's offense will never look like that. In fact, pretty much every OC besides Sparano's offense will never look like that.
Jets Going to Surprise Everyone I'm expecting the Jets to win on Sunday, and actually to have a winning season. No, I'm not delusional, I don't expect them to go 11-5, but I do think 9-7 is a distinct possibility. Nobody is giving them any chance, but I think Rex is going to really bring it this year on defense, and Mornhinweg is going to run the offense extremely well. The big wildcard is the QB and the reason everyone is dumping on the Jets before a single regular season snap. I think Morn is going to keep Geno in a manageable role and he's going to excel at what he's asked to do. The Jets are going to surprise all you non-believers starting on Sunday :jets:
Bold prediction. I sure hope you are right. I honestly believe we need to make it above .500 by the end of October for that to even be a possibility..
Teddy plays absolutely NOBODY this year...can't even imagine a first overall pick off of that schedule. Need to see it against real competition.
Alot of great QB's play weak competition also in college. Its the way he plays that matters most. He has a good head on his shoulders. He is going to very good.
I would say FSU's Winston has a great head on his shoulders. It's only 1 game, but he will play better competition. Unfortunately, he's got this year and next before leaving.
The Jets have the potential to be an 8-8 team, but all teams have that potential in the salary cap era. My reason for being down on the team this year is too many things have to go well in order to reach 8-8. A young defense needs to mature quickly. An O-line that has upside but only 2 players you know you can count on early in the season. A running game that's a big ? A Young QB who will struggle from time to time even if things go well. A mostly young and unproven receiving corp. A brittle veteran at TE and a young UDFA playing behind him. If everyone jells quickly yeah the team could be good. But if your honestly looking at the team with reasonable expectations of positional improvement over the course of the year you have to accept this is probably going to be a rough year. Yeah if the learning curve is quick for everyone, if everyone excels above the reasonable expectation level for the year the team could be VERY good...but how often does everything go that right for a mostly young and or inexperienced team?
the jets know that the media are assholes. It is Rex's mission to get them to prove to the world that the media are assholes. A new spin on the old "Us vs. Them" scenario. But, whatever works.
Even if Louisville wins out they aren't winning a National Championship. Won't even play in the BCS Championship game--their schedule is too weak. He's coming out regardless. _
bullshit. if he is slated to be a top 5 pick, he is good as gone. the cautionary tales of Mat Leinart and Matt Barkley are why you do not stay for one year when your stock is high.
unless there are other teams also undefeated, Lousiville would make the BCS championship game if they go undefeated. they are in a BCS conference and they have a top flight QB which makes them automatically interesting.
Well, in the Eagles preseason game, I thought it was very interesting that they ran the same first play that the Giants did. It resulted in a tackle for a loss, not the TD the Eagles were hoping for, so that does give me hope that Rex practiced dealing with that and hopefully that'll carry over into the regular season.
