Since We lost Barnes for the year, why not go after this guy? I'm hoping Coples starts producing soon. He seemed to only use a bull rush for the majority of the pats game. Pace should be a back up in this point of his career. Curious what Sapp can do, but he isn't getting a shot. So why not go after Wilson? His numbers may not be great, but the guy is an athlete. The saints cut him cause they weren't really using the 3-4. If we can get him and he produces, then the jets can really load up on offense for the draft.
We need a pass rushing OLB for sure. Barnes absence is a big blow. Coples should and I think eventually will be that guy. He's learning a new position while coming back from an injury.
watched him play a year at illinois, huge recruit for us and was excellent the year he played, would love to watch this guy in green (he was on the same illini team as our buddy jeff cumberland)
Coples came on last week. Had a strip sack of Brady and a few other pressures. Pace despite being old in the tooth has 4.0 sacks this year.
I'm sorry Coples at the moment isn't living up to expectations. Yes I understand he's coming off an injury, but he always looks gassed. Not seeing a wide variety of pass rush moves. A bull rush may work every once in awhile, not every time. Might as well have Gholston back there. Coples is not a OLB. Really don't wanna bash the kid. I hope he turns into at least a 8-10 sack guy for us. Just not seeing it. With the front 3 that we have Coples is getting alot of 1 on oppurtunities. So he should be killing it. Again, With our front 3 Pace should have 6 or 7 sacks. Pace gets coverage sacks. OLB has been our Achilles heel since Rex has been here.
Wilson has 4.4 speed and off the edge that is extremely dangerous, i approve of this. But Rob Ryan had first hand experience and saw him everyday idk how much say so he has on player personnel but if anything he'l get the real from Rob if the Jets do look into signing him.
