that was part of it but if they weren't effective taking handoffs and making plays they wouldn't be HOFers.

Brooks, Strahan, Reed, DeBartolo should all get in this year. Marvin Harrison should get in but is going to get hurt by that alleged murder charge which basically forced his early retirement from the game.

You are in the minority. doesn't make your wrong but it's nice to have a pass catching back but if he can't take handoffs and run he's not too valuable.

Who said anything about not being able to take handoffs. Good job, go jump to an extreme to try to prove a stupid point.

Marshall Faulk is probably a top 10 RB of all time because of his running AND pass catching ability.

Taking a handoff is the most important job for a running back. Being able to catches passes too is not just a bonus, it's essential to be a two way player, especially in today's game.

    Wtf dude.

    It's essential?

Marshawn Lynch doesn't catch many passes
Adrian Peterson doesn't catch many passes
this was the first year Charles caught a ton of balls
Alfred Morris is not even involved in the pass game
    lacy didn't catch a ton
    Gore doesn't catch many
    same for Murray

McCoy isn't even as involved as he should be. of the top backs only Forte has caught a million balls. Most RBs can catch the ball, but depending upon what teams want to do on O dictates how many they get, it's not essential.

    Stick w/ me, you'll learn.

GFY, if you had a choice between a back that could run and not catch, a back that could catch and not run, or a back that was a great runner and a great pass catcher like a Marshall Faulk, you choose Faulk every day.

so you don't think a RB like Adrian Peterson can catch psses and make plays in the pass game? you don't think scheme, talent, etc... play any role?

I love Faulk, great player but I'll Peterson is better. I'd take Barry sanders who didn't catch many balls, Jim Brown, etc...

    why are you so angry?

Because you are being a dick and intentionally obtuse. But that's ok.

    You're still wrong.

and completely dominated. very different than Strahan.

you can be so whiny. pay attention and learn rather than look so whiny and childish.

Who other than White and Smith played that position better than Strahan(in the modern era)?

If you think Strahan is a Hall of Very good guy that's fine....but you cant say Jerome Bettis deserves it and Strahan doesnt.

Like I said, a dick and intentionally obtuse. Go find another extreme to make some silly points.

You really don't teach anyone anything here. But you and I both know that.

some is scheme, some is because the guy does not catch the ball well.

    a. morris does not have anywhere near the pass catching ability of Faulk

so it's like you are right about some stuff and the JStikes is right about some stuff

I gave my reasons for Bettis, if he doesn't make it that's ok. I don't think he is a slam dunk guy.

as far as better DEs/pass rushers than Strahan in the modern era?

    Peppers
    Allen
    Ware
    Doleman
    Dent
    Greene
    Randle
    Rice
    Freeney
    Swilling
    Thomas
    LT
    O'Neal

    I can keep going.

    please go take your medication.

that explanation doesn't apply to every player, again I love Faulk. All time great but there are better Rbs than him. barry Sanders wasn't a great pass catcher, is there anyone taking Faulk over Barry?

What you fail to realize that there is only ONE criteria to judge running backs.

    One and only one.

who said that? I love when people have nothing and they need to make stuff up to exaggerate a point.

Swilling, Ware, Greene, and Thomas all played different positions.

And I can tell you're just going onto football reference and looking up stats.
