If they draft a CB at 18, I will still support that player and hope he does well obviously. Hopefully he does lock down receivers. I see receivers, free safeties and linebackers that would be the BPA at 18 over a corner. Again, it's not up to me obviously, I just want to see the Jets become a more rounded team. We focus so much on CBs. I feel we haven't focused on receivers and linebackers early in a while. I'm trying my hardest to open up to a CB at 18, I really am. I just see a bunch of players that the Jets could really use that could really make a difference, more-so then a CB. If we draft one at 18, so be it.
It was most likely more than that, but if I were him I'd rather compete with the champs than the Jets right now. Hell, he could end up a Jet by midseason.
Meh. Would've been nice from a depth/competition perspective but Rice was no guarantee to even make the team. In some ways I'm actually happy they didn't get him b/c it may end up forcing the Jets hand into drafting a WR in round 1. While I'm open minded & flexible to the Jets drafting players at other positions, It's been a long time since they drafted a play making WR.I think it's time to break that cycle.It maybe true that this is an exceptionally deep WR class..but I do think that the "instant play maker" types(which is what the Jets need) are to be had in round 1.There will certainly be exceptions but not as easily depicted in later rounds.
Not a big loss, IMO. Rice is overrated from that one great season he had. In his other 7 seasons in the league, he never had over 748 yards and only has played more than 9 games just once in the past four years.

Then an hour or two later, I get another notification that he re-signs with Seattle? This might be my first appreciation of Idzik for not signing somebody, because it shows the FO feels as I do about him, further showing being on the same page.

Maybe...the timing of it seemed to be that Rice called Seattle from the Jets parking lot. One minute we get a tweet he is at the Jets and taking a physical and 5 minutes later he has accepted Seattle's offer..it was strange.
