It seems out of place and I do not see the value in a ref making a prediction about a ref's call a few seconds in advance..
It certainly didn't help that the timing of everything in the segment was off: the voice offscreen had to yell to Mike to start talking, and then they completely missed the on field ruling.
Yeah although they actually have video of Perriera live. The Carey thing was via phone so it seemed kind of rushed/forced.
CBS whole coverage was crappy. Carey was a typical case of trying to keep up with the Joneses, unbelievably raw and unprepared.
Of course I agree. It got worse when they missed part of the long TD run to pay homage to one of their departed staff members.
Yeah...he looked like a deer in the headlights. I do this shit for a living...his earpiece (IFB) was not hearing the director. Still...the stage manager off camera should have prepped him and cued him silently.
For one he really doesn't need to be on camera. I would rather have a fullscreen shot of the replay and then just have him add commentary.
What I really didn't like was how they called holding on (I think)Ferguson (possibly Colon) saying he grabbed the shoulder pads and then on Decker when it was marginal at best and then a couple drives later they ignored the blatant holding on the Streater touchdown. I'll post the screen shots tomorrow but it seemed clear as day. I really hate how the NFL is becoming a flag fest for marginal calls. It's ruining the game. Funny how Carey agreed that Geno was down and the refs in the game proved they are idiots and called the opposite. I'm also officially hating Simms as an announcer. The way he bitched and complained the whole game about trivial shit like Ivory raising his arm while running and piss poor analysis for video reviews as if they already knew the Jets were in the wrong. For example the TD for the Raiders where it appeared he bobbled the ball a bit while out of bounds and he completely ignored it and said something to the affect of "looks like a catch to me!" with zero actual analysis whatsoever and him constatnly exemplifying the Jets mistakes as if they weren't dominating the game on both side of the ball. I dunno, maybe I'm just annoyed that I just saw a game that should have been a blowout, but wasn't because of penalties and turnovers.
They actually completely missed the first down of a drive because they were busy airing that stupid montage of David and Derek Carr.
