2002 season. 1/4/2003 actually. I guess Manning made the list up himself. 14/31, 2 int - I'd want to forget too.
No order: Both home games against NE. 1)The first one was in IND and had the crazy comeback. Two OL TDs in the game, one for each team. Wild game. Peyton had his last second drive, Brady got his. Colts moved on. 2)The second was about 10 years later, this time PM for Denver. Even with his much weaker arm, picked apart a NE defense like it was 7 on 7 drills. 3) 2009 AFC champ game against the Jets. Not much to say, we saw a near perfect QB game. 4)/5) His two games against Denver with IND. I think one of them was Harrison catching the ball, going to the ground between two defenders arguing, getting up and running it in. Those were statistical monster games where he looked like a robot. 6) The SB against the Saints. Had everything. Dropped passes, pick 6, mad scramble for an onside kick, Drew Brees catching fire. Awesome SB. 7) The SB he won against the Bears. Put in an early 7-0 hole because of Devin Hester, the Colts battled back in the rain. The myth/legend of Peyton practicing handoffs with his center by dunking the ball in water the day before. 8) The game against PITT with Bettis fumble, Nick Harper recovery (who was stabbed earlier that week in the leg accidentally), and then the Vanderjagt miss. And the INT that wasn't called an INT. This game had everything crazy you want from a playoff game. Plus the complete overall team overcoming the offensively led QB driven team. 9) His first KC game. The Colts scored on every possession but two. The two they didn't, they took a knee to end the first half and the last drive of the game where they just ran to eat the clock. KC scored on every possession but 3, fumble, missed FG, and end of game 10 second drive. 38-31, offensive showcase that probably fits better in the way the league works today than it did in 2003. 10) would have to be his 3rd super bowl appearance. We saw what age/injuries can do to a QB. The Broncos played in the weak AFC and didn't face a complete team until the SB that then had their best day and DEN had their worst day. Peyton Manning was shook, the Denver offense couldn't get anything going, and the Seahawks rolled to an easy SB victory.
he didn't, as usual he was one and done but I know it was the fault of his D, run game, coaches, STs, etc... 9th one and done, amazing and the 5th time he has led his team to a one and done with a 1st rd bye.
Manning was bad last night. He was poor down the stretch this year and may very well be finished, aged out of the game,. But it doesn't change the fact that you've been biased and wrong about his whole career and you don't know a damn thing about QBs. Go ahead and pile on last night's performance though.
I am not piling on, just adding to the long lost of playoff failures where he had SB talent around him only to hold his team back in January. NINE one and done's FIVE one and done's w/ a 1st rd bye led O to avg of 14.2 PPG in playoff losses only led O to more than 20 pts in 2 playoff losses- 1 of which threw 2 RZ INTs in 4 pt loss, the other got 14 STs points and still lost. Just give me credit for knowing what I am talking about.
