I love how even the writer of this article cant read between the lines. Coles is talking about pulling a Shockey and throwing a temper tantrum, not pulling a Randy Moss and demanding a trade. Gotta love how the media tries to turn us against our own.
Even if it is just a tantrum, he should still keep his trap shut. He should've known with a new head coach that this year would be a rebuilding year. Man needs to see a psychiatrist. He should put it in his contract.
It is really starting to get annoying how the NY sports journalist are about a fickle as a teenage schoolgirl. Media, in general, is largely that way.
no, it was from someone here who thought his comments made him on his way out, hes not going anywhere
I don't think this is misleading at all, coles is turning into a whinner, i dont know why, in a 41-0 game, i think they're more problems than getting coles the ball. He should shut up because he is attracting the NY media to circle around this and write crap like this. Either Mangini needs to sit his ass down and say what's your problem or just trade him if he continues to run his mouth. We dont want a Grade B version of TO. If he continues hell i say we send him to the raiders for moss and then see him complain. Im sure he won't get it much there in more than one game
he wont, he was clearly upset by the game and his lack of touches. his production has never been higher than with pennington, and he seems to be a consumate professional. Coles obviously sees the team going in a upward direction, and all this will calm down after he catches a Td pass this week. In which he has caught 7 in nine games vs the phins.
oo u scared me for a sec with that title... i dont think the article says that and anyway. y would he want to be traded thats idiotic
So... you really, truly think that Coles is dumb enough to start demanding a trade 5 games into one of the most productive (so far) seasons in his career? Does that make any sense at all? You know how much money he would lose in stat incentives that he would certainly fail to meet if he went to an entirely new squad and scheme 5 games into the season? Dumbest career move ever. Even if Coles were dumb enough to do such a thing, his agent would fight him every step of the way.
Maybe we should just put this thread behind us: LAVERANUES COOLS: WR Laveranues Coles, unhappy with his playing time in the loss to the Jaguars, said he has put the matter behind him. He said he had no plans to discuss it with Mangini. "He's our general. I don't ever go to the man," said Coles, admitting he was watching his words out of fear of being fined. . . . http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/460811p-387708c.html
Same thing was in the Post today. Basically he was pissed off after a 41-0 loss--as he should have been--and some reporters tried to make a big controversy out of it. Mangini was smart for not playing him a lot in that game. He's our best offensive weapon, he's nicked up to begin with, you're going to get him killed in a 41-0 game? Both guys are smart enough to know that. You want a player who wants to be out there and who's pissed when you lose, and you want a coach who's smart enough not to risk further injury in that situation when there's nothing to be gained. It's a non story. Coles catches a few balls this week and we win, it all goes away.
You guys need to lay off Kelley. He only posted an article. Everyone here does it. ANd it clearly states in the article that COLES WANTS TO BE TRADED. Now, we ALL read Coles' comments, and saw nothing of the sort. The author of the article was the one stretching everything, not Kelley. Leave him alone.
