God,,,,I hate the bye week although I appreciate its necessity....ANYWAY,,,,I want to win a SUPER BOWL again.....and build a lasting team. We are not that old now, but looking at the Jets roster can we get rid of the following players this off-season,,,with the exception of Chad Pennington and Ben Graham, who are all CURRENTLY over 30 years old....a little ancient for NFL standards unless you are a unique star or position.........Anthony Clement, James Dearth, Tim Dwight, Bobby Hamilton, Pete Kendall, and Kimo Von Oelhoffen...

I hate the bye week too, it feels like years since we played a game.

can't complain though, we go two weeks to prepare for the Patriots, this was the ideal time for us to have the bye and get ready.

Yeah, and throw in the fact the the last home game will be almost a full month when we take on CHI.

Ended up I had to go to a baby christening and then visit someone in the hospital, so it was a well timed bye week for me. And this was after I made a rare thread here to state I'd be watching my Sunday Ticket even without a Jet game. The best laid plans.

My wife just told me that my nieces birthday party is this coming Sunday. WTF. She knows I never participate in anything family related on Sunday's during football season but she is already giving me the "well you really should go".

No way, I've decided I'm not doing it. Going to be a lonely weekend for sure....

I feel Ya. I always have the biult in excuse when I get invited somewhere during a home game. "Oh sorry, I have a Jet game to go to." When the Jets are away I have to scramble for excuses, but my immediate family knows not to have anything from Labor day to Super Bowl.

In the rare time that I do go to something during an away game, It always amazes me to see some guys that aren't worried about missing football. Imagine spending a Sunday afternoon at Chuck E Cheese. GEEZ???

My family definitely knows the routine but it never stops the wife from making me feel guilty. The worst part is this is her side of the family so all her Giant fan brothers and dad will be there. Don't think I could put up with it. Plus, if she goes she'll take the kids and leave me all alone with the big screen and fridge full of beer !!!

Same here. I was pulling up the scores on my phone Sunday which was saving a lot of people. Still, no TV on a Sunday, that was rough.

For the Jets-Jax game I was on business and spent a lot of the day at Tampa airport, all eyes were on the NFL--gotta love that.
