Let us first be cautious that until 4 PM on Wednesday March 14th there are no deals being completed for player movement between teams and even then any such deal can be derailed by a player failing a physical. That being said, McCown has been extended! Yahoo! I don't think he even needs to pass an extra physical. Bridgewater looks to be on the hook here as the guy from Washington seems to be on the hook out in Minnesota, but all this is, as has been noted by both agents, subject to change because nobody is signin' nothin' until the markets close tomorrow. So now it looks like the Jets will Have McCown and Bridgewater in the stable, or at least out in their own pasture, and there's plenty of room for at least one more. Petty and Hackenberg still have lockers somewhere in the building but if either can be used to pick up a fifth rounder, why keep them around? Maybe keep one, at least for a few months, and keep looking. It may come as no surprise to anyone here but I am way too cynical to be a big fan of the draft because this team has a half century history of picking the wrong guy and until there are draft warranties available I'll remain that way. With that in mind I'm surprisingly now of the mindset that the time could not be better to roll the dice and make a play for the elusive FQB on draft day. Which guy is it? Do you trade up? Having two in the barn already do you wait until the second or even third round to fill out your entry? Is the price of moving up a couple of places too high? Probably. What could you get later? A longshot; but that would prove more of what the Jets have done wrong for a couple of generations now. No, you stay at six and be satisfied with one of the Josh's, probably Allen, unless there's a slick way to move up and not get hurt too badly. Does anybody really think the Jets front office is competent to do that? One caution - if the Jets do not use this opportunity to select a quarterback at no later than pick six (ouch!) I will fly the first banner over Florham park. Fear not, I have flown a small aircraft, for about forty hours about forty years ago but I will gladly accept the challenge.
We are "addressing" offense through Free Agency with the mighty McCown and Crowell. This frees up all the valuable draft picks for defensive ends.
ROFLMAO! You are too funny, guy! I know that we strongly disagree sometimes, but I like your sense of humor and wit.
I think instead of flying airplanes with banners over florham park we rent like 1,500 hot airballons and drop some kind of item onto the field maybe season tickets or dog shit.
Jets fans, please try to contain yourselves, for I have a strong hunch who the next beast Magic Mac will add to our beloved New York Jets qb stable. He stands 6 foot 6. He's lean, he's mean, and a future qb for gang green. He's none other than Marvelous Mike Glennon.
I strongly disagree. It would be more symbolic if the Jet was coming in at a more promising angle. So the people on board began to get hopeful of a safe landing and THEN..... explosion.
My bad... Decent touchdown, then landing gear collapses, then sparks ignite fuel tanks in wings, then they run out of runway.. Am I closer?
I want some way, some how to make this a bumper sticker for my car with the caption "NY JETS-Just wait until next year!"
