I would give a days pay to see us play and beat KC in the playoffs.:rofl2: The look on Herm's face would be PRICELESS!!! Actually we can't thank him enough for leaving. Mangini would still be in N.E. and Herm would still be "spinning" his line of B.S. It's been a pleasure watching a "real" coach do a super job getting this team in playoff contention.:jets:
yes. but this is getting ridiculous. you guys are making me very nervous with all these Playoff scenarios and we're far from in. One loss severely hurts our chances; two losses will probably knock us out. please, no more jinxing with the "P" word. cheers
Virtually impossible scenario. KC loses the tie breakers right now to everybody but Denver. That puts them in the unenviable position of winning the division round of the tiebreaker and then going home. Denver on the other hand would win in all of the non-divisional tie breakers but can't get by KC to qualify for them. Sounds like an AFC East scenario of years past with KC in the role of the Miami Dolphins at the end.
That will never happen because KC and the Jets best scenario is a wild card berth. Wild card teams can only face in the AFC Championship game and I am not too sure if that has ever happened... I agree that it would be a dream matchup...But it will not happen this year. If the Jets can get in they will probably be facing Baltimore or New England.
Unless the Pats lose a couple of games. Now that would be sweet. I'd love to see the Pats take a dive!
I am not 100% certain, but I am fairly certain they have a easy schedule to finish off their season. I don't think they would beat us if we played them again...they lost Maroney for the season. He was their KR and big play RB. I hope we get another shot to rub it in their faces...
They may have an easy schedule but they do play Miami and Tennessee I think. And they almost gave that game to the Lions last week.
I would not say their schedule is easy - they play Miami, Jax, and Tennessee on the road. Only Houston at home seems like a lock, especially the way Tenn has been playing. Do you have a link showing Maroney out for the year - everything I read said it was not a serious injury
For NE to almost lose to the putrid Lions last Sunday, you know they're not themselves. I could see them coughing up a couple of losses. All we have to do is keep our nose to the grindstone and keep on winning. How much fun would it be to win the AFC East and make them come to OUR house to get the shit kicked out of them?
Maroney had the wind knock out of him...far from IR. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-patriots-maroneyinjury&prov=ap&type=lgns
It's kind of funny how you mock Herm's supposed inability to coach, yet predict a Jets/Chiefs playoff game. I personally don't think that he could've done half the job that Mangini did with this group of guys, but with a veteran team like KC (or the 2001 Jets, for example) Herm is quite a motivator. As a game coach? Not so much.
Just think about the Bills, Just think about the Bills, just think about the Bills. I am trying very hard to think about the game this coming Sunday. We need to think about the next game. All the rules of tiebreakers going for or against the Jets while I love reading about them on these boards, I personally am really trying to hold myself back. But it's in the back of my mind. All the Jets have to do is win and hopefully the Jaguars will lose, because the only tiebreaker I see in Gang Green's obsticle is the loss in Jacksonville. At the moment I want to see the Jags lose against the Colts (I can't believe I'm saying this, I hate the damned Colts). Seeing the Jags going down & the Jets beating the Bills will make me very happy. Just think about the Bills, Just think about the Bills, Just think about the Bills. :buffaloblows: :jets:
c-mon guys.. what was wrong with Herm? lighten up on the guy....LOL, anyways, for me I'd love to play NE and beat them and then see ole' Bill's face, and to see if he would speak to Mangini then
I dunno mate... Moroney left the field and was not seen by any of his teammates immediately after the game. He wasnt in the locker room and was signted getting an mri a couple days ago
